We arrived in Sedona late one summer evening and stopped at the Blue Moon Cafe for dinner. Unfortunately for us, they had just closed for the evening. The owner was so sweet and apologetic it almost made up for it.
Later on our trip we went back to the Blue Moon for some delicious chicken sandwiches. The daily specials are wonderful, the meatloaf is particularly yummy.
Easy to find SR 179 in the Village of Oak Creek, there is plenty of parking in front of the cafe.

I generally subscribe to the view that if you can't say something nice don't say anything at all, but I am compelled to share an experience....
I have a website development client who originally had her site done by AT&T YellowPages.com. After months and months waiting for a website that she was told would take two weeks, she cancelled all services with them and asked me to develop her site.
We had the site ready in three days. But now we have to wait for the Domain Move Request from AT&T to change the domain name servers to the new hosting location. This was also supposed to take two weeks. Now, I happen to know that a domain name server change takes less than 5 minutes to accomplish if someone actually does their work.
It's now been nearly a month since the form was submitted. I have left at least 6 messages with the New Haven Sales office and have not once received a return phone call. I have called the Customer Service office who tell me that they haven't even received the domain move request.
Please, please do not succumb to the tempation of having AT&T develop a website for you... you will only be asking for trouble. Call a local web developer who still knows the meaning of customer service.

RSVP Biscotti Company in Brookfield, CT does a whole lot more than just Biscotti. They have a whole line of wheat-free, gluten-free breads and desserts. And for people on special diets due to food allergies or intolerances this is an incredible boon.
But even better than their regular wheat-free offerings, they made a special batch of cupcakes for me when I found out that my son is not only sensitive to wheat, but also to corn and dairy products. The cupcakes, which they gave to me for free to try out, were fantastic: moist, sweet, just delicious. So I promptly ordered a chocolate cake for my son's birthday.
They are located on Old Route 7 in Brookfield, CT. When you see the Hearth Restaurant, turn onto Old Route 7 and RSVP Biscotti is in the white building at number 18 with several other businesses.

The Mayflower Inn in Washington, CT is wonderful! The atmosphere is elegant, the inn is decorated with antiques. We've only had dinner at their fantastic restaurant - we haven't yet stayed at the Inn or the Spa. But even dinner was an experience in luxury. The wait-staff was very attentive - coming to pour more wine before I even realized I wanted more... The food was magnificent - never too much of anything.
When you feel like being pampered the Mayflower Inn is the place to go. The prices are in alignment with the ambiance and service, so expect to pay about $150 or more for dinner for two including appetizer, bottle of wine, entreรฉ, and dessert.

The Meeting House on Main Street in Newtown is right in the middle of West Street. In the old colonial style of having the main town building in the middle of a main street through town. Actually the meeting house was originally located in the middle of a very wide main street and was moved to it's present location in 1792.
The Meeting House is exactly at the Flag Pole in Newtown - another town landmark (some say traffic hazard!). The meeting house is used for weddings, memorial services, community events. My choir - The Newtown Choral Society performs there in May and December.
The parking is limited - a few spaces in front of the meeting house - but there is parking behind the library and businesses along main street that are a short, pleasant walk to the stone steps of the meeting house.

The programs offered at Newtown Continuing Education are varied and excellent! I do have a bit of a bias, because I've taught classes there on "How to Get Your Website Found" (Internet Marketing is my passion.)
The prices are reasonable for what's offered, the class times are convenient. Classes are mostly offered at the High School which has easy access from Route 34 and Route 84 (exit 11). There's plenty of parking.
It's a great way to learn something new and meet people in your community.

The Curves of Redding is actually in Georgetown - just down the hill from the intersection of Routes 57 and 107 on Old Mill Road. It's in the building that ages ago used to house the Connery family's general store. There's plenty of parking along the site of the building.
Curves is easy to get to, convenient to Route 7 and has an atmosphere that's upbeat, encouraging and fun. Unlike other Curves this one is very spacious with plenty of room to stretch or take a yoga class when they offer them. Clean, bright and cheerful it's a great place to exercise.

The restaurant is tiny and generally booked far in advance on the weekends. I think they have just 2 dinner seatings... so if you're at the earlier one, be aware that your waiter might get cranky if you take a while making your dinner choices. Parking is across the street at a lot right next to Lake Waramaug.

I just love the C. H. Booth Library on Main Street in Newtown. Before we moved to Newtown, I used to drive from Ansonia just to visit the library here. The personnel are always friendly and helpful, the book selection is very good. Parking is ample behind the building. The library has just been setup for wireless internet access, so you can surf the net while sitting in the back gardens amongst the holly bushes and other trees.
