I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Tortugas. The food was reasonably priced and plentiful, and the decor was very inviting. It was the type of eatery where you could spend a lot of time, which was great, because the very friendly service was unfortunately a bit on the slow side. It's not a place I'd go for an express lunch, but it's an excellent place to relax and catch up with friends.

Phoenixville Lanes is a good, old-school bowling alley - nothing extravagant, but well-kept. The bar is well-stocked and reasonably priced, and the bartender was friendly and efficient. We went during a rock-and-bowl event - it was entertaining, thought the DJ was fairly generic and the music selection left something to be desired. I don't know that I would necessarily pay for the special event bowling again, but for general bowling, a decent place to go.

On occasion I like dive bars, so I figured the Prima might be a good old shot and beer bar. The prices were very reasonable, and it was in walking distance to the Vale Rio Diner if I was so inclined. However, the bar patrons and bartender aren't terribly welcoming to outsiders, so if one is not going there with a regular, one probably doesn't want to venture into the bar. It's a shame, because the place had potential, but they may do well to label it a private club and not have to worry about the intrusion of those who were not regulars.

I think most of us have become accustomed to dentists who are aloof at best, and mostly just condescending. There is none of that at Liberty Dental - the dentists are professionals and work with the patients to determine the best treatment plan without preaching about the evils of an occasional piece of chocolate. Their prices are fairly typical for dental work. The hours for general work are pretty accomodating, but if you need specialized work, some creative scheduling can be required (nothing unreasonable however). An excellent practice and I have recommended them to several family members!

My first few trips to Rock Bottom were phenomenal - four-star food and ale for two-star prices. The waitstaff was efficient and personable - which is very difficult for any service worker to pull off. However, the restaurant seems to be resting on its laurels. My friends and I have not had good dining experience in the past six months - incorrect orders, slow (but still friendly) service, and improperly cooked food. The beer is still decent, but I wouldn't waste my money on the entrees, which for the past few visits have mirrored college dining hall fare.

In a world full of bland understuffed hoagies and subs, TD's managed to produce great sandwiches along with their excellent meatrolls, pizzas, and ice cream. Also, if you choose to get their $4.40 package deal (small sandwich/side/drink), you get *gasp* actual sides! On more than one occasion, I've got a delicious chicken parm or italian zep along with a salad that was able to be eaten along with the next day's lunch. Delivery time can be a bit slow, but the drivers are very careful with the way the food is handled (no smooshed pizza) and always very friendly.

One thing I disliked about Phoenxville when I moved here was the lack of Chinese food - until I discovered King Chef. The wonton soup is delicious (and works better than chicken soup for curing a cold!), the breading for sweet and sour chicken was perfectly crispy, and the beef and broccoli was very fresh (no overdone shoe-leather food here!). Delivery time was fairly decent, too. I really don't miss my old Chinese restaurant after having King Chef's food!

Having done a great deal of grocery shopping in my adult life (who hasn't?) I can honestly say that my favorite chain grocery store is Giant. They consisently have great sales, the base prices are reasonable, their store brand is actually worth using, and the store is generally well presented. The fresh produce is in good shape as well (a tough find in many stores)! They are also very helpful in customer service matters.

One September night, I needed to find a place to get my hair done and fast. Panic ensued as I realized the other salons weren't an option, and I didn't expect too much as I went into Hair Cuttery to get my hair cut and styled. The hair stylist there worked a miracle with my frizzy curly hair, and also suggested tips on how I could keep the hair style looking lovely. Where else could I have gotten a great style and priceless professional hair advice for under $30? I sincerely recommend them, especially for those of us with "difficult" hair types.

No superfluous charges here - they are upfront with what work needs to be done immediately and what doesn't. They are also very efficient, and will get your vehicle back on the road as quickly as possible. Very customer-oriented!
