Bellingham is a fun city to explore and the Fairhaven district has a lot to offer. There are some really great shops in this small section of town and Mambo Italiano has some terrific food. Whenever my wife and I stay at the Chrysalis, we like to come here for dinner. Everything we have tried so far has been fabulous and the service has been great. The main restaurant is small but there is an overflow dining area with additional seating. Although, the atmosphere isn't quite the same out in the courtyard so I would recommend getting there early or hanging out in the bar until a table opens up.

If your planning a trip through the Skagit Valley, stop off at the Snow Goose Produce stand. During the summer months they have your typical fruits and vegetables but they also serve up some of the best and biggest ice cream cones around. They have a variety of flavors and they put the delicious ice cream into a freshly made waffle cone. You have to take some back roads to get there but the trip is worth it.

I went into The Kids Club to just look around and couldn't believe how expensive everything was. Located in the Crossroads Shopping Center, the store seems a little out of place because there aren't a lot of other upscale shops at this mall. All of the products were packed into the small store and so I would definitely need the assistance of a helpful staff member if I wanted to find anything.
I would head down to Gilman Village to check out a shop called "Spoiled By Nana" for a more interesting selection of specialty kids clothing.

I had heard about this place from other people and so I wanted to give it a try but I'm just not in the Renton area that often. Finally my wife and I met up with some friends who live close by. Everyone talks about the peanut shells on the floor but I didn't expect for the food to be as good as it was. Everything tasted really good and it was brought out very quickly. The service was great and this place seems really kid friendly. We brought our daughter and we noticed several other babies and small children there as well.
One drawback is the darn birthday song. I'm not against celebrating people's birthdays or anything, it just gets a little old after the 4th time in an hour. The Red Robin version isn't my favorite either but maybe I just need to lighten up.
Anyway, I definitely plan to go back and try something else from the menu.

I've been to the Chrysalis with my wife twice now. The first time was on our honeymoon and then the second was a year later on our anniversary. Both times were excellent. We each got massages from the spa and we both really enjoyed them. They have fabulous rooms with very comfortable beds and a great view of the bay. This is a really fun shop. When I lived in Anacortes I would come here to just browse the used books. When you're done looking through the books, you can move on to the large collection of music. They usually have something cool playing which adds to the atmosphere. Plus, they have an espresso counter in the back of the shop with good breads and muffins. For me, the small, family-owned stores like this are what make places like Anacortes so great.

Yes, the warm chips and salsa are very, very good. My wife and I go to Ixtapa every couple months. We love Mexican food and this is one of our favorites. Their Duvall location is quite large and is a pretty popular place on a Friday night. Even when they're busy you can get a table fairly quickly and the service is great. There was an Acapulco Fresh across the street for a little while but it must have been too hard to compete with the authentic taste of Ixtapa since it only lasted for a little over a year.
