Hometown Buffet in Champaign, Illinois is a knockoff of Old Country Buffet. I did not enjoy the food at all as most of it was salty and dry. I would not recommend anyone going there unless they are desperately hungry. The only redeeming factor was that it was pretty cheap. Go at your own risk!

Ryan’s is probably the worst buffet I have ever gone to. The food was decent and so was the price, but the thing that got me mad was that you had to pay for a soda. I believe that a buffet should include soda in the price of the food but it wasn’t. Also, I had terrible indigestion from eating their meat afterwards. I am never going there again!

My favorite pharmacy is Walgreens. They are so convenient because there are so many of them around here and they are easy to deal with. They readily accepted my insurance plan and it was very quick. I also enjoy their online refill service as it was much nicer than having to go there or call in a reorder.

The Melting Pot in Schaumburg, Illinois is the best place for fondue in the Chicagoland area. Oh my God, their fondue is unbelievable including their cheese with bread, seafood with different sauces, and especially their chocolate fondue with the fruits. It is very expensive for 2 people, but it is well worth the money. It’s a perfect place for any special occasion.

The best place for the freshest vegetables and fruits in the Champaign-Urbana area is the Schnucks in Urbana, Illinois. They always seem to have the most ripe and crisp looking produce as compared to Wal-Mart or Jerry’s IGA. I definitely shop there even if it is a little more expensive for all my produce.

I got an oil change from the Quick Lube and Express at the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Savoy, Illinois. It was a very pleasant experience and I got the oil change for a decent price as compared to a Midas or some other place. It cost me $45 to get 5 quarts of Mobil 1 Synthetic Oil, a filter of my choice, and they even vacuumed my car. Great experience!

Bar Louie is a brand new bar that has opened up in the Champaign-Urbana area at the University of Illinois. They serve awesome food at great prices such as $1 burgers, $4.99 all you can eat wings. I definitely recommend them, since I had a great first experience with them. The drinks are a little expensive but I think it is very worth it.

The best place to rent videos in Champaign-Urbana is That’s Rentertainment. They have the most extensive collection of foreign films including most of Asia, Africa, and Europe. They must have at least tens of thousands of movies in that little store so if you can’t find something, I’m sure you’ll find it there. Movie rentals are also fairly cheap so that’s definitely a positive. The only downside is that parking is hard to find since it’s located in the heart of campus town at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
