Books-A-Million is much smaller, not as crowded, offer cheaper prices, and have tons of great places that are hidden away where you can sit and read books as you please. It is much quieter so you can also bring some study material if you wish to do homework and most people there are courteous as to not using their cell phones.

You will find the best hotdogs and burgers in Chicago at Hot Dog Island located in Skokie, Illinois. They had to unfortunately move far away from me, but I make sure to drive out there every few weeks to fill my craving for their burgers. Their burgers are all grilled to perfection and my favorite thing is to cover them in their grilled onions. They also serve their own peppers with the burgers which make them very different from other places. Definitely try out their pizza puffs and other appetizers!

They are open very late for a small store (until 10 PM most weekdays) so it is convenient to go as it fits your schedule. Also you know they have the freshest meats and seafood because they have such a high turnover rate. Make sure to go early in the morning if you want the best selection of fruits.

Binny’s Beverage Depot is a great place to go for wine tasting and buying fine wines, spirits, beers, and other liquors. They are very cheap compared to smaller chains and convenience stores. The only downside is that they are not open very late and close around 10 PM on a typical weekday. They have a huge selection of all sorts of beverages and it is very nicely organized for easy finding. The parking lot is a little small but you will manage to find a good parking spot since there is a high turnover rate.

The best place for Philly cheese steaks in the Champaign-Urbana area is Penn Station. It is conveniently located near the Marketplace Mall with lots of bus stops near the restaurant. They are reasonably priced and they use only the finest ingredients. They have tons of variations of the sandwich so you can find one that suits your tastes best. They also have hand cut fries which are very fresh and delicious because they are cooked in a special blend of oils. Once you try their cheese steaks you will back and want more!

Brunswick’s is my favorite place to go bowling for the simple reason that the bowling alley’s are well maintained and that they have great specials on certain days of the week. As long as you have your own bowling shoes, which can be had for $25, you can go on a Monday or Thursday evening and play games for 99 cents each. That is bargain for bowling in my honest opinion. Not only is bowling a great activity for you and your friends, it also doesn’t hurt your wallet. I recommend bowling at Brunswick’s any day of the week

Cheddars restaurant in Champaign, Illinois is a horrible restaurant in my opinion. The service me and my girlfriend received was horrible. We never once got a drink refill, the food came out kind of cold, and it tasted horrible. By the way, I ordered the Philly cheese steak and my girlfriends ordered the chicken strips. We felt insulted by our experience there and will never go there again.

Dominick’s grocery stores are very convenient for me. They have several locations throughout the Chicagoland area and they also seem to have the freshest produce in the area. It’s also very convenient for me because all the stores have a TCF branch inside them, so I can kill two birds with one stone. The café/cafeteria inside is also very nice and provides quality meals at reasonable prices. I would recommend doing your grocery shopping at one the many fine Dominick’s.

They also sell lots of vegetarian foods, pre-made meals in their café area, wines, and other liquors. It is kind of pricey but you are paying for organic foods which come at a premium.
