Fresh Market offers a unique selection of foods that you won't find in your regular grocery store chain. Whenever I am looking for a speciality baking ingrediant, I always check Fresh Market first. Usually they have what I need. Their selection of candy and chocolates is amazing: many of the chocolates that they carry are European brand names. They carry my wife's favorite chocolate bar: Lion Bar. Needless to say, I have to swing through Fresh Market in order to pick up a few Lion Bars whenever I am in the doghouse and always before Christmas. The meat selection is wonderful and meat quality is out of this world. Prices are higher, but I feel you get what you pay for and in this case: awesome meat! Not where I shop every week, but I do enjoy shopping there.

Fremont Street offers an amazing nightly light show. The street itself was closed and turned into a big 'boardwalk' type area with a big canopy of lights connecting the left side to the right. Starting at 7pm each night, you can watch a spectacular and entertaining light show production. The show happens either every 30 or 60 minutes. Take note: it is not a quiet show -- loud music accompanies the lights. Keep this in mind if you have a young child who is not comfortable with loud noises. If you are visiting Las Vegas, Fremont Street is definitely one of those touristy things you should plan to do.

I was amazed at how expensive shoes can be for children -- especially toddlers and preschoolers. Thank goodness my wife found a Stride Rite Outlet while we were visiting friends in VA. The prices are so much more reasonable. The day we were there, all shoes were 'buy one, get one half price'. We bought 2 pairs of shoes for my son for less than the cost of one. That was definitely a bargain! The store was well organized. The staff was friendly and willing to check the back for extra styles and sizes. We will definitely visit this store again the next time!

This family owned diner offers a tasty variety of Southern type cooking: chicken pot pie, beef stew, cornbread, etc. Daily specials are offered. Dessert is made right there in the kitchen. The food is delicious. Desserts are scrumptious. Prices are wonderful! You won't break the piggy bank eating at this diner. Staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. They make you feel at home. The owner and staff take pride in their restaurant and keep it looking spotless. If you are in the area (many people shop the area for furniture), definitely search out this diner for a meal or two.

I love everything about Gypsy's Shiny Diner: food, atmosphere, location, staff, jukebox. Gypsy's is a unique looking restaurant. It's facade is completely chrome, so on those beautiful sunny NC days, it surely shines brightly! The interior neon decor emphasizes "DINER!" as does the menu. Menu offers burgers, open faced sandwiches and divine desserts. If you didn't save room, make sure you take dessert home with you. Prices are diner prices -- meaning GREAT! Food is tasty and made to order. Staff is friendly in that family type of way. Service is quick. Oh! Don't let me forget to mention the jukeboxes: each table has a little jukebox so you can choose your own rockin' dining music. Love that! Love Gypsy's!

This restaurant may not offer a wide variety of cuisine; but it does offer a wide variety of strombolis and beer. Basically, their menu consists of appetizers and any flavor of stromboli you can think of. They boast that they technically offer over 1 billion different flavors (combinations of stuffing) boli. I didn't do the math -- but they do offer 30 different items you can choose to stuff your boli with; thus I guess if you make every combo possible using those 30 ingrediants, you'd have a lot of boli flavors to choose from. Enough about quantity, let's talk quality -- and the food here has it! Their bolis are the best I have ever had! Delicious! Prices are very reasonable (which explains why they do such great business with the local college students). Best of all: their amazing selection of 70 of the world's best brews! It can get crowded -- but well worth the wait. Staff is friendly. Definitely a casual college type atmosphere. I love it!

The food at Postrio is absolutely sensational! Exactly what I'd expect from a restaurant created by and owned by Wolfgang Puck. It is located in the Venetian, which in itself is a beautiful casino, in the shops area. You have your choice of dining inside the elegant restaurant or sitting on the casual inside patio. Portions are reasonable. Prices are a little upscale -- but that is to be expected. Service is outstanding -- I don't think the wait staff ever allowed my water glass to become 1/2 empty. If you have any room left after your meal, dessert is definitely worth it.

I absolutely love the dessert selection at Claim Jumpers. Whenever I am in Las Vegas on business or pleasure, I make sure to visit Claim Jumpers at least once. Their Motherlode Cake is sinful. I don't know who create this chocolate masterpiece but they should win an award. I have been very pleased with their dinner items also. The portions are big and the prices are reasonable. I found their service to be exceptional. You just need to remember: save room for dessert.

Fuddruckers definitely has the best hamburger when compared with other restaurants. The burgers come in 4 sizes: 1/3 lb, 1/2 lb, 2/3 lb, 1 lb. I have only ordered the 1 lb burger once -- it was humongous!! I thought it was neat that they offered the following type burgers: buffalo, veggie, turkey. Their buffalo burger was tasty, though a bit on the dry side. All burgers come plain (unless you specifically ask for a speciality burger which could include cheese, mushrooms, bacon, etc) and you fix them up at the fixins bar. They also offer chicken sandwiches. Their children's menu is great -- I like the fact that they offer a grilled chicken sandwich on the children's menu as my son has never liked the friend chicken fingers most restaurants offer kids. Prices are reasonable. And if you are still hungry after one of their delicious burgers, they have a dessert bar full of cookies and brownies.

Thomas Sweet's has the best ice cream! I have never had better ice cream anywhere else. They offer a huge variety of flavors AND it is ALL homemade! It is located not far from Rutgers University and it is a favorite spot with the college students. Prices are normal for an ice cream boutique. In other words, higher than normal but oh so worth the price. This store used to be just a NJ tradition (with 3 locations in NJ) but they opened a store in Washington DC -- lucky DC residents now get the honor of great ice cream.
