Check the weather before you go, because more often than not, you won't be able to see anything from the Top of the Hub. Also, you may not get seated near a window. The food's pretty expensive ($20 or so for entrees). The food's also not vegetarian friendly. They only had one veggie entree last time I went and it was one of those crappy veggie lasagnas that's made entirely of grilled veggies and cheese? The ones that are like layers of eggplant and zuchinni? Anyway, I expected better. The do have nice desserts though, and a yummy cheese and fruit platter.

Yes, the prices are very high. I remember when it was much more of a family restaurant 10 years ago...It's much more upscale now, or at least, trying to be. The prices are high, and from what I've heard, the food's good. The vegetarian options are next to zero. They usually have one vegetarian entree that occassionally changes, but it sucks to only have one choice. And, it's usually $16+.

The restaurant has an upstairs split into a bar and restaurant and a downstairs which is more restaurant seating. All sides tend to be crowded though. The food's pretty good, even if you're vegetarian. I always order sides, and the portions are a lot bigger than you'd think (so I usually end up with leftovers). They have a dessert name "white trash" something or other that I decided to try when I last went...It's basically 4 ice cream sandwiches covered in whipped cream. Yum yum!

As far as I can tell, Whiskey's pretty average. The crowd's pretty big, and they sometimes have lines. The food's boring...they do have cheap buffalo wings though ($0.10 a piece). Tends to be very loud and crowded. Very casual and laid-back. If you want something more classy, go to Vox. If you want something even more relaxed, try the Foggy Goggle.

The interior's nice. The crowd tends to be mixed. They're pretty strict about dresscode still. The bowlings ok. So's the pool. There's Tequila Rain downstairs, which is supposed to be more lively. Jillian's is a good option to check out to watch sports games in a nice environment.

Much like other bars like Felt and Gypsy, Vox attracts the same crowd. It's pretty big, and they serve food, but I don't think I've ever seen anyone actually eating there. The get a good crowd, but it's spacious enough that it's not too bad. The drinks are ok. If you don't like the scene, there's always the other bars on Boylston.

It's been a long time, but this was a pretty good bar. The crowd was mostly Asian the nights I went (err, Wednesdays?). Not that big, but there's a small dance floor. The drinks are ok, the bouncers lenient. All in all, the place is ok. I can't remember if there's a cover, I don't think there was. I'm trying to think of what this might be comparable to...maybe Felt on a much smaller scale (25%).

Never eaten there, but the menu looks pretty basic and moderately priced. Located just outside of Downtown Crossing and Chinatown. The drinks are interesting. Everything's "fusion," basically an "Asian" twist (just add ginger). They have a dj, but there isn't really a dance floor (I've been told some nights there's a lot of dancing, other nights there's none...just depends on who's interested in dancing). The crowd in the evenings tends to be Asian as far as I can tell.

It's a very small shop, you could probably only fit a handful of people in the customer area. Since they're so small, they don't have that wide of a selection. Also, they often change the menu items, so don't expect the item you liked so much your first time to be their your second (much to my misfortune, this happened to me). It's nice in the summer though, since you can go in and grab a fruit smoothie or something and keep walking down Newbury.
