This place has a detailed menu that reads of the who's who of Asian cuisine. It basically has every imaginable classic Asian dish and is extremely eclectic. You can get anything from pho to sushi to Peking duck. Their drink menu is just as extensive and filled with good choices. From the outside, you'd never know the sophistication of this Asian bistro, so make sure you head inside and find out.

This is a fairly small Chinese bakery that has a good selection of things that Westerners would likely never want to eat. However, for someone with the trained palate, this is a great place to go for good food that's extremely inexpensive. Where else can you go and get change for a dollar after buying something that tasty? I usually tend to go here while waiting for takeout from nearby Peach Farm and almost always buy several lotus seed cakes. They're flaky and tasty. Make sure you bring someone who's well-versed in Chinese food, though. Otherwise, you'll have no idea what you're eating.

I haven't been here since they added the comedy club. However, this is an interesting place that has a hard time deciding whether it's a classy sushi joint or a nightclub. The tables clear out at night for the partying, but you can still order quality food. The place reeks of sophistication and sleek modernism with a gleaming steel bathroom that'll make you think you're in the future.

This place can be rather cramped, especially since the ceiling is low and there's only one small bar in front. Immediately head upstairs where there's more seating and a second bar that doesn't tend to get as hammered. There's sometimes a live band, and the atmosphere is always full of energy. If you're on a bar or pub crawl in Back Bay, then you must stop here.

All right, the main attraction here is obviously the bowling. However, if you're unwilling to wait for hours for a lane, then it's still not a bad place to relax and mingle. There's usually a live band, a great drink selection, pool, and cool people.
Indeed, the place gets crowded fast, so if you really do want to bowl, make sure you get here early. Otherwise, you could easily find yourself waiting until closing time on a busy night.

This place has an absolutely incredible and almost impossible to finish beer menu! Good luck trying them all. However, people obviously have, considering the mugs that have people's names on them. Yup, if you try every one, they'll have a mug reserved for you with your name on it.
This is definite dive that has true hit-or-miss service. Their food is also a bit on the unusual side but it's pretty cheap and worth it.

Framing artwork is always truly expensive for some reason, so I can't really say much about their prices. However, I can say that their service is top-notch. The first time I went, they easily spent a couple hours with me helping choose the best matting, frame, etc. They know everything and are willing to walk you through everything. Then, each time I go back, they already know my choices. It's solid craftmanship, and the frames look like they could easily be family heirlooms for some time to come.

Honestly, I know nothing about paint aside from it's necessary to add a little color to your life. If you're like me, then this is the place to go. Located on swanky Newbury Street, it's almost surprising that they've been here for years. It's a large store filled with paint and supplies, and you'll find absolutely everything you need. They're also extremely helpful. For example, the guy who mixed our paint willingly rolled it out to the car and helped load it--after they'd already closed.

The staff here are knowledgeable and extremely helpful, and you'll find all sorts of outdoor gear. The best section, though, is the skis and boots. It easily rivals that of nearby Ski Market, and the bootfitter I had really knew his thing. After a couple hours, I walked out with the perfect pair of boots. After looking it up online, I found out that I even paid less than discount online merchants charged!

Admittedly, this place is first a restaurant and second a bar. However, I prefer the latter aspect about this place. While the sit down dining is good, I prefer the bar area because of the different menu. Here, you can order $1 tapas from an ever-changing menu. Of course, it's impossible to decide on which tapas you want, so you can just get the tapas combo platter for $10. (Just be forewarned that $1 = small. They're more like bite-sized snacks.) Pair it with an endless supply of carafes of sangria, and you're set for the evening.
