Stylish and the service is friendly, the food is good, good portions. That's it in a nutshell. The food was seasoned well and the portions were about right. I didn't leave the place full or unfull. It was just right. The food wasn't greasy either. I didn't really like how it was really dark in there because I like to see my food. However, the decorations were really Asian modern and the bar area looks really classy.

They have fresh fruit that you can't even find in Vons or Ralphs, and seafood. In front of the store there is a bakery that has really good Cheese bread and other baked goods.

The place isn't really authentic Japanese but it's a great experience. The sushi was fresh and they give you tons of servings and the service is extremely personable. The chefs are really friendly and happy people, the rice was fresh, the fish was fresh, the prices are reasonable for the servings, and the servers were really attentive.

The atmosphere is aesthetically pleasing due to the beautiful gardens overlooking L.A. and the garden setting where you can eat. However, this place is called a restaurant and the food is something unspectacular. Their kobe beef entree is horrible because the beef is hard and the appetizers are bland. They are so cheezy to even put on the menu "yamachurros". I do give it to them that the presentation makes the food look like works of art. And, the service is great, too. Everybody seems to be attentive.

You can buy 3 rolls for .75 cents and it's worth it. Plus their pan de sal is really tasty since it's freshly made and hot and fresh.

When I went to school in Riverside, I would go to Costa Mesa to visit just cut some hair for a cheap $10. I would always be happy with the results even though it took longer than necessary since the student would have to talk to her professor and plan out her strategy for my head. Sure I didn't feel like I was human at the time except for a plastic head with hair, but it's okay. For $10, I really don't care because in the end, my haircut was fabulous.. layered and all. Also, coloring is quite cheap too using the best hair products.

Also, the crowd is pretty odd since most of them were in their early 30's + considering that I would think that the early 20's usually club, no? Anyway, the bartenders were really cool and gave us free drinks, which made the experience a lot better in regards to if we were sober. =P

Also, they have a lot of Japanese drinks like Calpis and Aquarius which I do suggest if you haven't drank those already. Also, if you want to make some Shabu Shabu or Sukiyaki or whatnot they have really thin slices of beef. The thing is, Mitsuwa is not cheap and I wish it was cheaper but I can't blame them since they have to import them from Japan. And.. Japan isn't cheap as it is.

I've been going to Buko ever since I was 7 years old and the style and taste hasn't changed (thank God). It's located in this little plaza in Glendale and it's a quaint little store surrounded my Armenian markets but there are many faithful eaters that go there since the menu is fairly simple to follow. There is the beef (or chicken)teriyaki and tempura, some sushi, donburi, sashimi, etc. The decoration is the traditional Japan like setting with an aquarium and the owner is this cute old Japanese woman who always looks happy to meet you. Also the entries are pretty cheap ranging from $7-9 but it will really fill you up.

I would have to recommend to you the dynamite roll. Although I do have to warn you that some people don't like it. I don't know why though but maybe it's because of the Japanese mayo doesn't seem to appetizing. Also, the eel with the eel sauce is so good. But anything on the menu is so good that it's worth trying every single one if you have the stomach for it.
