This Sam's Club was built just a few years ago so it is clean and new with tons of parking.
Like all Sam's, you can purchase electronics, groceries, clothing, books, etc. Saturday is the big sample day at Sam's when selected frozen foods are cooked and offered to customers so this is a fun day to go if you can tolerate the crowds.
Sam's is also a great place to pick up a huge slice of pizza for a buck if you need a lunch on the run.
There is great selection of toys during the Christmas season.

The menu is conveniently online. I always print it out and make my sons decide what they want before we get there to avoid indecision and pouting!
I always get the Chinese Chicken Wrap with peanut sauce. It's fabulous and two can easily share.

This Target location is older and smaller than the new Targets being built now. However, the same great products are available at the same great prices. In fact, since this Target is not new and shiny, you can find alot of items that are sold out (toys at Christmas) here.
There is small snack area; milk and some dairy is sold but that's it as far as food. Easy access from the highway and ample parking.

Driving through Weatherford usually means a stop at Craig's. This music shop has a huge inventory of guitars and amps that calls out to my husband anytime we are near.
Guitar shopping is pretty low on my list of fun things to do but I have learned this about Craig's:
*their prices are the same or better than alot of online store
*the employees have been around forever and know what they are talking about
*you can stay and play around to your heart's delight
*the store has huge devoted following
*frequently host live bands
*provide music lessons
*all would-be musicians want to live there and sleep with the Gibsons, the Martins, the Fenders, etc.
There is no need to drive into Ft. Worth to guitar shop and, in fact, Craig's gets a ton of business from DRW.
For wives, Craig's is deadly dull after about 10 minutes. Bring reading material or drop off your hubby and go antiquing one street over.

This Walgreens is like most - lots of makeup, seasonal items, candy and health and beauty products.
The pharmacy has a super convenient drive thru just off Main Street. The girls that typically man the window are sweet and helpful. The pharmacy is busy so you won't get your prescription in 15 minutes. Drive-thru lines are LONG at lunchtime and around 5 p.m. Go mid-morning during the week if you can.

The Rock House is an Aledo favorite that has expanded its business to include live music on the weekends, dinner service some nights and a Sunday brunch.
Lunchtime is popular because the salads, sandwiches etc. are so good and made with a twist on old standards.
The Rock House prepares and has available for takeout casseroles, desserts and other dishes that change daily. A large King Ranch chicken casserole runs about $25. It is fabulous!
Call ahead to see what's on the take out menu and if any are available before you go.

Skate Queen is the perfect setting for a teenage slasher movie. You enter into a tiny lobby. The door to the rink is locked. Someone behind glass has to let you in.
Now you've made it in and you are in a run-down rink, with stained carpet, old tables, a boring concession stand and some old codger taking care of rentals.
You get on the rink, the lights start flashing and the old codger goes up to a booth to call out games (limbo, etc.) and play music you had on 45's.
In a movie, this would not end well.
Since it is the only skating rink around, we endured our share of birthday parties at Skate Queen. Don't even think of dropping off your middle-schooler there on a weekend evening.

It was big news when HD opened in Weatherford. Now, after a few years, a large percentage of its customer based has moved on to the new and well-managed Lowe's.
Here's what you'll find at the Weatherford HD:
*stock in the aisles - everywhere
*no employees; no help to be found
*employees who are resentful when you do track them down
*parking lot filled with buggies and baskets waiting to blow into your car
*dirty floors and poorly lit store
*stingy clearance bargains (as compared to Lowe's)
Avoid the hassle of the Home Depot location.

Brookshire's is not your typical grocery store. It is clean. It is stocked. Every single employee says hello. You see an actual butcher checking on the meat section. There is no expired, rotten food in this store. The produce is pristine - even the so-so stuff is segregated to $1a bag bin.
Brookshire's is getting more sophisticated, too. They have a pretty good selection of products.
The downside is that Brookshire's does not accept coupons on a regular basis. When they do, the bargains on the lead-ins are fantastic.
Groceries are ALWAYS carried out; you get the seldom heard "paper or plastic" choice and lots more of those little things that can set your day in the right direction.
This location is across the highway now and recently began selling wine and beer.
