Beall's is the only "department store" in Weatherford - if you are using the term loosely. All the typical departments are there, but the brands are mainly mid to lower end, with some Levi's, Hilfiger and Liz Claiborne thrown it. No makeup counter except for already put together sets of beauty products.
Beall's does have a very good selection of shoes which are often put on sale.
Beall's routinely discounts its merchandise, including sterling silver jewelry. If you are over 55, or can find someone that age to go with you, Beall's gives an extra 20% off. That's a big deal when silver hoop earrings are alread 1/2 price!
The store is packed with merchandise. The employees are super friendly. It's a very hometown shopping experience.

They like nothing better than to whip through the drive-thru while they are out running errands and grab a 99 cent double Texas cheesburger. Sometimes their big spender of a dad springs for a 99 cent Frosty, too :-)
So, for hungry kids, Wendy's is a cheap and easy way to fill them up - temporarily!

Baker's is located across from WalMart in Weatherford so you have no excuse not to hit the drive-thru and order a chopped beef sandwich for $2. It is fantastic.

Baker's is located across from WalMart in Weatherford so you have no excuse not to hit the drive-thru and order a chopped beef sandwich for $2. It is fantastic.
Inside, the restuarant is set up to send you through a line, give your order to the guy cutting meat and pick out your sides. The ribs are juicy and delicious. The sauce is spicy and not runny.
Everything is cooked and smoked on site so you'll come out smelling like a firefighter that just left a burning house, but the food makes it worth it.

Horsemenโs Supply has become my husbandโs new favorite place to buy hay for our two small ponies. Hay prices have gone crazy during the long drought and warmer than average temperatures that we have experienced in North Texas during the past year. Horsemenโs Supply has had to raise their prices significantly but they are not trying to rob people like some of the local feed stores. They carry a very tasty (says Sugar and Miss Sassy) 100 lb./ three-string square bale of Costal Bermuda for $16.95 with tax. They also offer a similar size bale of Alfalfa that is reasonably priced.
They are conveniently located on the Fort Worth Hwy. Just a ways down from the locally-famous Malt Shop. I donโt know what their official hours are but they always seem to be open when I need a bale.
Their staff is friendly and quick. They load they hay for you and thank you for shopping. Horsemenโs Supply has an huge line of take and other horse supply needs. I have not bought anything but hay although I can tell that their prices are very reasonable on other items as well.

The Malt Shop is a local icon in the Weatherford area. The Malt Shop is most wellโknown for their homemade peach ice cream and homemade peach ice cream shakes. They also have several other homemade ice cream flavors to enjoy. Ice cream is only part of the reason I like he Malt Shop. They make burgers and fries the โold-fashionedโ way: Just plain GOOD! My favorite thing about the hamburgers is that they grill the inside of the bun to a crusty brown. Itโs the hottest hamburger youโve ever tried to eat.
The Malt Shop is conveniently located at the intersection where Hwy 171 tees into the Fort Worth Hwy. That is especially handy for me as I work just one-half mile away. I can call in my order, drive down and pick it up, and Iโm back in my office enjoying a super lunch (low calorie of course, wink) in about 10 minutes. They have several lunch specials. My favorite is a burger, fries, and shake combo for just $5.00.

I love Central Market because it is really an H.E.B. grocery store which aren't found in North Texas. I grew up with H.E.B. so I have a place in my heart for Central Market and the store-brand products (the fajita meat, the blackberry jam). I like to buy the H.E.B. products which are fabulous at a fraction of the cost of the gourmet items that CM sells in abundance.
That said, CM can be a real hassle for grocery shopping. It is set up like a maze and you have to know where to find the cut-through aisles. There are always lots of browsers who can make it difficult to get in and out.
Of course, the food selection is fabulous - wonderful grains sold in bulk; beautiful produce (where else has Meyer lemons), fresh tortillas, cheeses galore and a buffet of sauces and condiments that will stop you dead in your tracks.
Go during the week when the crowds are light. Buy early for any holiday dinners, too! Regular customers receive coupons and discounts.

The earrings are very understated but extremely well made. The wedding bands are gorgeous and simple. The jewelry tends to get boring after a while.

Aledo Donuts is family owned and operated. They have a nice selection of donuts and pastries, but we always go for the sausage rolls. There are a few tables if you want to eat there. Aledo Donuts sells beverages - water, juice, soda, milk out of a refrigerator case. You pick out what you want and pay for it when your donuts are bagged.
The owners are super friendly and super fast at selling donuts. They may be a line but you'll be eating sausage rolls in no time.

Although highway construction has made getting to WP Cleaners more than a little difficult, no other cleaners does my husbands shirts this well.
The staff is great; the owner is almost always there and remembers you by name. If you get your laundry in before 9 a.m., it will be ready that same day by 5 p.m. There is a convenient drive-thru and WP Cleaners is open most of the day on Saturday.
Look for 99 cent shirt coupons in the Community News every Friday.

Unfortunately, Kroger is the only grocery store in W'ford that regularly takes coupons, because shopping there can be dangerous to your health.
This particular location is full to the brim with expired food. Cheese, refrigerated pasta, sour cream, even canned items are expired. We found a jar of salsa where the lid had rusted and mold was growing inside. These items aren't hidden or behind a bunch of new product - they are proudly displayed. Obviously, a HUGE stocker/management problem.
I've even bought Pepperidge Farm croutons (should be safe, right?) that I stupidly didn 't check the expiration date on and they were a month out of date.
I shop there because it saves me alot in grocery money. With coupons and lead-ins, you'll end up grocery shopping there - just check the date on everything!
