My husband are in the throws of buying our first home, and Amy with the Howard Hanna Shadyside office has been a GODSEND. We're buying from afar (Seattle!) and Amy has helped us every step of the way. Before our housing market investigation trip, she did all the legwork to make sure that we saw every possible house that we would like (she actually listened to what we wanted during our initial conversations and identified great houses for us to tour). She helped us seamlessly negotiate the offer. We had to get back to the West Coast quickly, so Amy has helped us find inspectors and multiple contractors to give repair estimates in our absence. She has definitely gone above and beyond in this respect and we're so thankful for it - we would have no idea where to begin otherwise! She hasn't forced us into any decisions or referrals from her network and has helped us see alternate perspectives. Overall, Amy has been awesome! Give her a call if you need a real estate agent in the Pittsburgh area.

Adelita is such a cute little shop! They always have the most unique ladies items and have recently upgraded to a larger store so the selection has improved and diversified. The owner is awesome and you can frequently find her in store. I love the clothes but have done a little comparison shopping and the prices seem a little high - not too bad though.
If you're browsing on top of QA, this is a great shop to stop into!

There's currently a Specialty's on 2nd or 3rd Ave in downtown (by the WaMu tower) as well as one in Bell Square Mall and I hope they open more! They have the BEST cookies (try the peanut butter chocolate chunk), great salads and good sandwiches. It's super crowded around lunch time, but worth the wait!

When I moved to Seattle (about 3 years ago), Ozzies was in my neighborhood and it was a great cheap place to hang out and drink. The remodeled (about a year or so ago, I think) and since then, it's changed a lot. The last time I was there, the crowd was a mix of hooched-up girls, nasty older women and frat guys. The place is so crowded now that it's really hard to stand with a drink, let alone find a seat.
On the plus side, the karaoke is really funny.

I LOVE this store! It's located in Lower Queen Anne and they have a great mix of more exspensive clothing and their own line. They sell BCBG, French Connection, Max Studio, Blue Cult and BluJeanious lines. The staff (usually) are really nice and aren't pushy. They also have GREAT sales!

I LOVE Habitude but it's really hard to get an appointment on short notice. I usually decide that I need a massage at the last minute and I can never get into Habitude with less than a week's notice (especially on weekends). The services are great when you get in. My only complaint is the fact that they're always offering complementary makeup services. Usually, after a massage or pedicure or whatever, I just want to relax and I find it annoying that the makeup artist won't stop talking to me!

I recently visited Spa Scotta and had a great pedicure. I love the fact that they employees didn't try to force me to buy products or upsell me in anyway. The pedicure was one of the best I've received in a long time. My only complaint was that they staff members were a little chatty (both amongst themselves and with me). I just wanted a quiet time to read a magazine and relax but the staff kept talking. Very nice, but a little upsetting.

Dexter Barnes, DDS at Seattle Dental Associates is amazing! I moved here about 3 years ago and have been seeing Dex since. When I first arrived in Seattle, I got the worst toothache ever. I called around to several dentists and no one would see me right away. Dex's office was about the sixth place I called and they agreed to see me right away. I went in an hour later and received the best treatment possible. I was really impressed by their ability to shuffle schedules without upsetting other patients. I have referred several friends and co-workers to SDA and they have all been equally impressed!
