Great Food, Unique Tastes 4/10/2006

In a town dominated by national franchises, So Long Saloon dishes up something different with local flair. At heart a burger bar, So Long's menu features a choice between beef, chicken, and buffalo in a range of configurations that include a spicy salsa burger, an old fashioned burger topped with a fried egg, and more. They'll even cook up a monstrous 13+ layer burger "if you can handle it." (Finishers get a T-Shirt.) Not stopping at interesting burgers to tickle the palate, appetizers like a very interesting raspberry cheese bean dip make So Long a famous local stop. The atmosphere is very good, with a classic country meets Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) decor, several televisions tuned to various news and sports, and sleek raised pub tables. The small dining room size and outgoing friendly staff keeps the experience feeling personal and small town. This is one of my very favorite locations for lunch dates. more
