L'Auberge Chez Francois is one of those restaurants that you never forget. One of DC's most acclaimed restaurants, it's run by Monsieur Francois and his staff. And they are the epitome of perfection. The service is always stellar. The food is always amazing. It's a bit out of the way, on a winding road, but it's worth the drive.
It's expensive, so it's not somewhere you would go on a regular basis, but it's perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, etc.
It's my favorite restaurant and where my husband proposed to me! :)

This restaurant, located in the Ritz-Carlton in Tyson's Corner, is one of the top restaurants I have ever been to. It's super-pricey, so not somewhere one would eat every day, but it's perfect for anniversaries, birthdays, etc. The prix fixe meal comes with 5 courses, but that's not all of the food you'll get... There are six different amuse-bouches "courses" in between the main courses. The food was absolutely amazing, and my husband and I were so stuffed that we couldn't even finish the last amuse-bouche they gave us. Two thumbs up. No, four. HIGHLY recommended!

My husband and I checked out this restaurant based on the recommendation of a friend. And I couldn't be happier that we did. It's in a small shopping center, and it doesn't look like much, but the staff gives great service and the food is really good. They make everything after you order it, so it's not fast food. But it's definitely worth the wait.

Reston Regional Library is my favorite of the Fairfax County Libraries (not that I've been to them all). They have a great selection and a great atmosphere, and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. It gets crowded on the weekends, so I have resorted to looking for books and reserving them online, so I don't have to face all of the teenagers doing their homework!

Reston Town Center Multiplex Cinemas, in the heart of Reston Town Center, is in a fantastic location. Sadly, that's about the only positive comment I have about this movie theatre. The seats are uncomfortable and the floor is always sticky with soda and popcorn. I would much rather go to Sterling, or some other place with stadium seating. It's an older location, and it's becoming shabby and outdated.

This restaurant used to be really good, but has been slipping as of late. The food used to be close to perfect and the service impeccable. But lately that has all changed. The restaurant is starting to look shabby, and the food isn't as tasty as it once was. It's not terrible, but it's no longer close-to-perfect. Which is a shame, because it used to be one of my favorite restaurants.

My husband, who has traveled extensively in China, gives this restaurant top honors: "It tastes like authentic Chinese cuisine." The steamed dumplings were the best I had ever tasted (and I love dumplings). I loved the beef & broccoli--the beef was tender, not somewhat dry like you find at other Chinese restaurants. My husband had the Kung Pao Chicken and said it was also the best he had ever tasted. We will definitely be going back there!

I came in here with two of my bridesmaids to try on a very specific separate-style dress by a specific designer (one of the only stores in the area that carries the designer). Even though they ended up not having all of the pieces that we wanted to see, the staff was very helpful and offered to order a sample from them. Since I knew I wasn't going to be buying any dresses there, I declined the offer, since I didn't want them to have to shell out extra money for a sale I knew they wouldn't get.

One of my colleagues used to pick up pastries from Heidelberg Pastry Shoppe once a month and bring them to work. She always got me a cinnamon roll, which was absolutely to-die-for. I didn't taste many of the other pastries, since I'm a picky eater, but everything looked wonderful, and the entire office always looked forward to our once-a-month pastry breakfast!

The Clarendon Ballroom is a great place to go if you're looking for something atypical of your run-of-the-mill bar. They normally play swing and big band music, and often have concerts featuring artists playing said music. They will also rent out the ballroom for events. Parking can be a problem, as it is in the heart of Clarendon, but the Metro stop is right across the street.
