The Peabody Prepartory division has a very talented orchestra that plays a few concerts a year. Our daughter played in it for two years and also took a chamber music class at the prep school. The orchestra is very disciplined, more so than another area youth orchestra that she also belonged to. If your high school musician is frustrated with the public school music program (as was ours), check out Peabody Prep. They have a lot to offer in the way of opportunities for advanced training.
