Respectable BBQ in a homey setting
Monday, April 10, 2006
I'm originally from Kansas City where BBQ is something approaching an obsession. I went to Uncle Bub's once and had the pulled pork, a specialty which is more typical of North Carolina BBQ than KC. I really enjoyed it. The meat was really flavorful and the sauce was nice as well.
The only real negative to Uncle Bub's is the strange floorplan. Suffice it to say that it's pretty easy to get lost upon entering the restaurant for a first time guest. I wonder whether this is the result of an addition to the building at some point in the past, but the main entrance puts you in the middle of the dining area with no sight-lines to the ordering counter. Follow the signs and you should be OK, though.
