I purchased a bed from Rooms To Go about three years ago. The bed was defective. I returned the bed and was given credit voucher for another bed. Not finding anything in the showroom that I liked, I asked he manager how long I had to choose another bed. He checked in the computer and told me that I didn’t need to choose another bed because they had credited my account. When I went home, I checked my account and it didn’t reflect any credit, so I called customer service. They told me that I had to way about 30 days for my account to reflect the changes. After 30 days I called and they said 60 days. After that they said 90 days. One week before my account would have been due, they tell me that I have to choose another bed! I bought a memory foam bed for near $2000 and it arrived defective. They scheduled to send another and it arrived defective also. I went with a latex and after two weeks it begins to sink. Their quality is horrible and their customer service is even worse!

I was unlucky enough to have gone to this clinic when I was pregnant. A horrible experience in every way. With the exception of probably two staff members, everyone is, for the most part, rude. The Doctors that I saw (3) seemed always annoyed and in a rush. The waiting times are ridiculous. I witnessed a Doctor tell one of the staff members to send a girl home even though the girl had been waiting for over THREE hours and was already in a room ready to be seen. Never again…

Dr. Yakubu is not my son’s pediatrician, but I took him there one time. Dr. Yakubu is a very nice pediatrician. I know people who have their kids with her and they really like her. I think she opens on Saturdays too. I took one star off only because I though that the waiting area was a bit small.

Woodberry Woods Apartments are government-subsidized apartments in Brandon. They have 1-3 bedroom apartments. The rent is more affordable than others in the area. The location is really good – less than a mile from the mall, Marshall’s, TJMaxx, Target, Best Buy, Staples, movie theater, Olive Garden, and a bunch of other businesses. Super Wal-Mart and Publix are less than 5 minutes away. Near I-75 too.

Dr. Kamisetty is a very good pediatrician. His clinic in Brandon is the nicest clinic that I’ve ever seen. He has plasma TVs in his waiting rooms. The best thing that I like about his clinic is that he has two separate sections for sick and for healthy kids. If you are taking your kid for a check up, you don’t have to worry about him or her getting sick. He and his staff are really nice too.

Paris Hair New Look is a really great place to get your hair done. Jasmine (the owner) has tons of experience. She used to have her own Beauty Salon in Paris before coming to the US. Her place is really private; people cannot see inside and she keeps the door locked. She does a good job, and her prices are reasonable. She gives a free consultation too. I highly recommend.

The Wexford Apartments were built only about two years ago. The apartments are somewhat small, but nice on the inside. The closets are huge. Unfortunately, you can hear everything that goes on outside and in your neighbor’s apartment (next door, downstairs, and upstairs), and I mean everything. If you are unlucky enough to be the neighbor of someone who has children or who likes to play loud music, you will probably suffer much. If not, you will probably still hear phones ringing, vacuuming, walking, talking, and the like. On the plus side, the rent is very affordable compared to similar size apartments in the area. As I mentioned, the place is new. The office staff is very nice. Maintenance is good about getting things done on time.

I arbitrarily chose Dr. Barriga from a list of pediatricians at St. Joseph’s hospital when my son was born last year, and I totally lucked out. She is so extremely nice! She was so patient listening to all of my “new mom” questions and gave me great tips. Her clinic is clean. Waiting times are short. She also speaks Spanish.

Save-A-Lot will save you a lot money in baby food. You can find Beechnut stage 2 baby food jars three for a dollar whereas in every other grocery store where I have shopped they are 48 cents. The only downside is that you will not find all the varieties. They usually always stock turkey rice, chicken rice, vegetable chicken, butternut squash, pears, green beans. In case you haven’t shopped there before, you should know that they don’t have bags, so bring your own.
