Temptation Tea house in Mt. Kisco has a tranquile, soothing atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. This is the first place in Westchester where I have come into contact with the Japanese tradition of bubble tea. Bubble tea is a tea which can be served hot or cold, and has giant black tapioca pearls in it (the bubbles). I tried the peach green tea with the pearls and it was pleasantly sweet and the pearls were chewy of a gummi bear consistancy. I enjoyed it very much and would be more than willing to try it again. For our lunch my sister and I ordered shrimp tempura, gyoza, and crispy pan-fried noodles with shrimp. The shrimp were huge and the portions were generous. The tempura had a jicama salad under it which was refreshing. It was drizzled with a sweet fruit dressing that pulled it all together. The pan fried crispy noodles were lite and it was topped with lots of healthy veggies. I would gladly go back to sample more off their expansive menu.

The decor of 121 is uplifting and inviting. Get there early or be ready to pounce when a seat frees up because the bar seats are limited. The copper bar shines as bright as the good looking bar tenders which is a nice perk! Actually, not only were the bar tenders good looking they were also very nice! I am a beer drinker and very picky at that. Our bartender generously let me taste several of their micro-brews before I made the decision of what to stick with. My friends and I spent our night at the bar sipping apple-tinis and munching on appetizers. The duck roll was one of the best I've had and the sesame shrimp were humongous. The sauce for the shrimp was so savory I could have drank it out of the tiny serving cup! We also got fried calamari which was tender and cooked to perfection and a margarita pizza. The drinks and food are competitively priced and worth the money. It was an all around good experience.

King Buffet on Route 6 is one of the best buffets I've ever been to. The food is always fresh and plentiful. The prices are reasonable and the staff are pleasant. I am usually not a big fan of buffets because they aren't as good as when you place an individual order but this place has changed my mind. The food is hot and fresh. My personal favorite is the salt and pepper shrimp and the chicken with broccoli. I don't think I ever leave this buffet before eating at least 2 plates of food. From the rice to the dumplings to the stuffed shrimp its all good. To finish it all off, they have soft serve vanilla and chocolate ice cream that you can top with sprinkles, chocolate syrup, and peanuts. The sweet buns are soft and sugary like they should be. I always leave the King Buffet full and satisfied.

Magic Wok is an all around good Chinese restaurant. The Chan family have owned this restaurant for as long as I can remember and they always treat me like queen. The food is traditional and tasty. Nothing compares to the shrimp lo mein and the fried dumplings. The service is quick. The waiters are polite and accurate with your orders. Prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming.

Right on Mamaroneck Ave. in White Plains, Mix It Up is one of those great new make your own salad places. A bit pricey if you load up on the meat and un-included extras but worth the money. You can choose from 4 different types of lettuce. There is a large selection of add ins including chick peas, broccoli, snow peas, roasted peppers, corn and a ton of other veggies. From bacon bits to shrimp this place has it all. The salads are big and hearty and they each come with a 1/4 piece of a pita. Its just enough carbs to keep you happy and healthy. This is definitely a place where you get what you pay for. On top of everything they even deliver!

I live right in Sleepy Hollow so when I want a drink and a nice meal by the water I usually choose from one of the three restaurants on the riverfront. I have been to the Striped Bass over a handful of times and have had nothing but raves about it. Unfortunately this past week when a friend an I went that was not the case. First we tried to get a table outside but under the awning but there were none and the hostess told us it is too difficult for her to retrieve us from the outdoor bar area when one comes up. So we huffed but conceded to go to the outdoor bar anyway and keep an eye out for an open table. Well I waited on line for 15 minutes behind 3 people before ordering while 1 of the 3 employees sipped a coke, another picked his fingernails by the grill and the last slowly took orders an made the drinks herself. When I finally placed my order for sun dried tomato feta dip I thought the torture had ended but I was wrong. My friend an I wiped down a waterlogged table and waited. Finally a table under the awning opened up. That is when I returned to the bar and asked how long it actually takes to put a scoop of dip on a plate and if I could just get a refund since a table we wanted was available. The employee asked if I was sure I didn't want the dip and agreed to give me back the money. This took another 10 minutes because the guy drinking his soda had not completely quenched his thirst yet and apparently he was the man with the rights to the register.
So, in we go...well under I should say. We get our menus and order drinks. Then its time for appetizers. we ordered Caesar salad, popcorn shrimp in a Cajun kind of sauce, and baked clams. The shrimp were awesome but we were pleasantly surprised to see they were regular sized. That is where the evening climaxed and the spiral starts to move downward. We order another set of drinks and as our meals get 2 more appetizers-another popcorn shrimp and pastrami cured salmon. 15 minutes and no drinks later we are starting to get antsy. Finally we caught another waiter and asked if our drinks would be on their way soon. Next thing we knew the other appetizers had come out and we were still parched as our waiter chatted it up with another table of 5. This batch of shrimp was not as good as the first but was still pretty good but as per my friend the salmon was not pastrami cured but actually maple glazed and it had a huge salad that was not listed on the menu. The dressing was all over the plate and the salmon was not even close to what was expected. Finally our waiter came back to apologize for never bringing our drinks and but he didn't even acknowledge that the plate of salmon had not been touched. After what seemed like eons the check came with everything billed including the horrible salmon and no consciousness of our unhappiness. We left feeling ignored and unsatisfied.
As I mentioned earlier in this review I have been to the Striped Bass several times before and was completely satisfied but this time just didn't cut it. Its possible that there is new ownership but that isn't an excuse for the poor service and under par cuisine. Personally I vote they bring back the old menu, staff and baked shrimp and we will all be happy!
This was a 4 star restaurant and now its down to 1. The service was unacceptable and the menu did not accurately describe most of the things on it. Step it up Striped Bass! I look forward to seeing an improvement.
