Common Grounds is a great name for such a friendly place. Ever since they opened in 2001, Common Grounds has been a Clarendon staple. It's about a 10 minute walk from the Clarendon Metro and well worth it. The staff treats everyone like you've been a regular for years and they're very accommodating. Check them out when you're in the neighborhood.
