Mama's Daughter's Diner 4/3/2006

Located at Old Orchard and Main Street, Mama's Daughter's Diner is like going to Grandma's for dinner. You get great old-fashioned cholesterol-laden, artery clogging, cooking, served by no-nonsense waitresses who call you 'hon' and 'sweetie'. Meatloaf, chicken & dumplings, salmon croquettes, chicken fried steak.... All the old home favorites are here. Accompanied by the traditional sides - mashed potatoes & gravy, macaroni & cheese, turnip greens, okra, corn. Start off with huge yeast rolls and corn bread. And finish off - if you have room - with cobbler or pie. It's worth going just for the peach cobbler. Served with Bluebell vanilla, of course. You can't eat like this every day, but MAN, it's worth it once in a while. Going home never tasted this good. more
