I have never been more pleased with customer service than at Lucky Brand Jeans. Upon entering the store a man approached me very gently and non-obtrusively and asked if he could help me find a pair of jeans. Checking out his immaculate outfit, I agreed, and he right away guessed my size and brought only one pair of jeans to my dressing room after asking what style I was looking for (casual, night-out etc). The singular pair he brought was the perfect pair. He had accurately assessed my sizing with just a glance and brought me the most flattering pair of jeans in the store. As Paris Hilton would say "That's hot."
It's been a year since that purchase and these jeans are still my weekend staple and in perfect condition.

The Fairmont Olympic Hotel situated in downtown Seattle is the ultimate experience in luxury and leisure. If you have a special anniversary coming up, I'd choose this hotel over any others in the downtown area. Though very pricey, the sheer magnificence of this hotel is enough to keep you coming back. The Georgian room is great for high-tea. The rooms, though small, are classically decorated and make you feel like a princess for the day/night. The beds are plush and you're guaranteed a good night's sleep.
Within walking distance of all the major entertainment venues and shopping, you're sure to be treated like royalty at this vintage hotel.

This cozy street-corner Italian restaurant oozes romance. The atmosphere is intimate and never stuffy. The decor is well-done and the front entrance boasts great framed newspaper reviews. The owners are obviously proud of their food and service, as they well should be. The chicken marsala is number one in my book-- great, fresh flavors with that hint of rosemary. The service is always prompt and friendly and dishes never linger for long on the small tables. Great for dates though I am not sure if they take reservations or not. At one point they did not, but this policy might have changed. Call ahead and check. Enjoy!

Oh! Phish Food,
comfort-food for us mopey girls
Cup or Cone
we care not.
Oh Phish food
in my tummy
I love you
you are so yummy.
Okay, so yeah, that was a joke, but in all seriousness- Ben and Jerry's Phish Food (and other flavors, I suppose) have graced the world and fulfilled our empty-calorie needs for some time now. If you still have not tried this icecream classic, I'd suggest a quick trip to the grocery store to grab yourself a guilty carton.

With so much of our lives being consumed by the deep, dark issues of our world at war, it is always a pleasure to pick up a copy of the Stranger, found on pretty much every commercial street in Seattle. The columns are not meant to berate readers with the same modern-day politics, but rather to entertain, parody, and inform in a loose manner. You can tell the editors and writers of this paper have fun with their work. This paper works as an excellent guide to life in Seattle, especially night-life. The "I Saw U" classifieds are always so fun to read!
Put down that New York Times for once and pick up a Stranger with your coffee. Your mood just might improve.

Being a Seattle-ite all my life I have always taken great pleasure in my visits to The Paramount Theatre. The high-class entertainment venue is breath-taking and the theatre is big, but every seat is a pretty good one. The entertainment seasons are always very diverse... right now they're playing Joseph and the Technicolor Dream Coat. My favorite will always be The Phantom of the Opera I saw at the theatre a few years ago when it was touring. Opened my eyes to musical theatre completely. The last concert I saw there was the fabulous Moody Blues, even though I was the youngest in the audience! ;-)
Great space, great entertainment. Check the local newspapers for upcoming shows and ticket prices.

The crepes at this tiny, snuggly little cafe are pieces of art. The dinner crepes especially just stand out as a great and unique dining experience. The Stephanie crepe is paticularily delightful, in my opinion. Great salads and soups can accompany your crepe and of course you are obliged to indulge in a dessert crepe. The one I had tonight was the Peanut Butter and Chocolate crepe.... like a gooey reese peanut butter cup. Oh, so good!
The waitstaff at the restaurant can definitely be improved. I always know that eating here will take a good hour-hour 1/2 due to the long waits for different courses. Expect another 15 minutes be added to waiting for the billing process. Just takes forever, especially on busy nights. Better just ask for a pitcher of water too, because they won't be at your table regularly enough to fill up the small glasses.
Otherwise, enjoy the crepes and the great artwork on the wall!

Sephora is a make-up junkies heaven. The store features such great lines like Sheisido, Chanel, Smashbox as well as some teen-classics like Stila and Urban Decay. The makeup selection is impressive and I love how they organize the store by lines and even the sectioning within the lines makes all the makeup accessible and easy to see as opposed to over-crowded department store counters. The perfumes/colognes selection ranges from the sophisticated Burberry collection to the fruity, fun Escada line. Don't forget skincare/haircare! Sephora offers a great array of skin and hair lines (Murad rocks, in my opinion) that will keep you glowing. The staff are all very knowledgeable and willing to lend a hand when trying to get that eyeliner just right.
Go in, get your makeup done (for free!), and play around for hours.

Open Books is one of the two (I think) exclusively poetry stores in the United States. As an literary buff, this is a great business as well as artistic triumph. The owners are so open and friendly, even willing to open up their store at different hours to accommodate special student requests and such. It almost goes without saying that the content of this store is impressive and beautiful. Many people, even most English majors as myself, shy away from poetry but with stores like Open Book celebrating the art of poetry, it can be made so accessible and enlightening. Next time you're up for an intellectual feast, check out Open Books and get lost in the words for hours.

This is the store were all the great, classy clothing pieces go to die and be reborn again. The prices here are just astounding. Last week they were having a 75% the orange sticker prize. After half-an-hour of careful searching I triumphantly left the store with two great clubbing tops at the amazing price of 8.25! Ridiciulous! As in any consignment shops you come across some dreadful pieces, but Tiger Tiger is brimming with just great clothing. The coat section is paticularily impressive. Do a little rack-searching here before you head off to Ave. shops, you might end up saving yourself a lot of time and money.
