But I cannot help but find Dick's so disgusting! Trust me, as a kid, Dick's was always our first stop on the fast food chain, but I've lost all desire to even get a milkshake nowadays from this drive-through-joint. The service is great, but the food is just plain bad! The milkshakes are sawdusty and have been sitting in a freezer for some time, the fries are limp with grease, and the burgers are just burgers. Nothing special at all! Prices are good but the quality of the meal is not, so it evens out for the company.
If I'm ever in the mood for "instant" food I'll just head to a Subway or something....

The Metro cinema has definitely seen better days. And it doesn't seem to me that management is getting the impression that those great days are offer; they still let the theater continue on it's path of slow decay. The screening rooms are outdated-- small screens, small seats. The movie selection is great, in my opinion, but only if you want to catch the newest foreign film, not a big-screen blockbuster relying on visuals and sound quality (both of which the Metro does not have). What gets me the most is the price! Tickets will put you back a good ten bucks and there is no free parking! The neighborhood is littered with "Zone 3 Only" parking to keep theater patrons out. They do offer validation at the theater, but you still have to throw in a buck and definitely cannot catch dinner across the street afterwards without moving your car. Do yourself a favor and just drive a few more blocks to the Guild 45th, Neptune, or even Oak Tree on Aurora.

The Harvard Exit is a great movie experience. After buying your tickets to the latest indie/foreign film, you are transported to a different era of Hollywood when chandeliers, pianos, and plush couches reigned instead of cardboard movie cutouts, obtrusive ceiling to floor advertisements, and loud, obnoxious music. Rather, the Harvard Exit relies on old class and great movies to sell tickets. Though the lobby seems antique, the theater is not-- the sound, the seats, and the screen are all very nice. Walk around Broadway before or after the show, the neighborhood is just booming with great restaurants and shops. Enjoy!

Recently I attended a UW function in the HUB ballroom and the catering was done by Eleanor's Catering. All I can say is I was very impressed. Expecting cheap box lunches, the guests were treated to warm quiche, a great variety of continental breakfast items, warm coffee, tea, juices, sodas etc... The quiche was perfection. As a vegetarian, I opted for the ham-less quiche and was surprised about how many vegetables were in the breakfast dish! Usually veggies up the cost of a dish so they'll get skimped on, but it was loaded! The setup was clean and non-obtrusive in the room and I barely even heard the worker come in and out to clean up and set up for the lunchtime fare. Overall, this was a great experience and as far as free food goes-- yummy!
I picked up a business card-- number is 206-527-6269. I'm tempted to just call and order a few pans of quiche. ;-)

In my opinion, this is the "soft" classic rock station. They rely on favorites from may classic rock bands and this can be both a good and bad thing. Good, because really, it's great to hear heart's "Barracuda" once a day. Bad, because that will be the same song you hear over and over again. Check out 102.5 you Floyd, Zeppelin, Stones fans to hear a little more variety from the bands you love.

Just thinking of Johnny Rockets makes my tummy turn. The concept of the restaurant chain is intriguing but the wonder ceases at the drawing boards. The food, to be honest, is horrible. You could head up the street to get a Big Mac and enjoy it more (and save yourself a lot of money) than a burger here. The shakes are chalky and the fries are just generic. For the prices they ask, you should not be getting generic. The servers just looked exhausted-- too much grease from the fry vat leaving them irritable and slow. What makes this worse?! When they have to get up and dance! You cannot help but feel bad.
Do yourself a favor and opt for a healthy, less expensive meal somewhere else in the Village (World Wrapps, Blue C...)

Fireworks seems to be recently leaning on the idea of being a gallery moreso than a store. While a lot of great knick-knacks (books, pens, silly toys etc) grace the shelves, it seems like you would have more fun just looking at them for awhile instead of dolling out a lot of money to take them home. The photographs and paintings are gorgeous, the highlight of the store if you take your eyes off the oddities on the shelves below for but a minute. There is a small alcove for kids with pillows and movies to let them relax while you walk around the store.... probably for the best as it seems kids are always trying to grab and play with the items.
Basically, this store is a great place to browse, but prices usually restrict me from becoming a buyer.

Have you ever noticed that every GAP store has a certain smell? Not entirely unpleasant, but something about it.... gives me a headache whenever I walk in. Maybe its the wood displays. Besides that small detail, the GAP is always trying to fit in with today's fashion world.... always unsuccessfully in my opinion. The Sarah Jessica Parker adds were good for business, but the sizing is so boxy and overall wonky enough that nothing ever looked good when actually put on. As for the jeans, I have been impressed lately with their new lines, curvy, long and lean, etc... wearing a long and lean right now actually and they fit pretty well. Compared with my other jeans though, they're still regulated to partially cloudy school days... just not the best quality.
They are raising prices but the same clothes seem to be coming out with each new seasonal line. If they would take the inspiration from their Sarah Jessica Parker lines and just run with them, then they might have something. But the continual dependence on classics (khakis etc) keeps the GAP out of the fashion spotlight for most of the time.
please note: this is just my opinion, don't get snippy with me about this! we all have different tastes, and I am just expressing mine. :-)

Echoing most other reviews in saying that this mall is very upscale and expensive, the parking and restaurants are a great starting point for your afternoon shopping. The parking garage is safe and with great rates to boot. I really enjoy the restaurants here too-- Thai Ginger and Gordon Biersch being among the best (skip on Todai, that's gross). After that you can pretty much skip the shopping here and head over to Nordies, Urban Outfitters, American Eagle, etc for cheaper digs. End your night with a movie at Pacific Place though-- they give great student discounts if you have your ID (and a student, of course).
