I'm not a big fan of this overpriced flagship chain in NY's Herald Square. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate every Macy's.. just this one. I think they train their employees to be standoffish and stuffy. They also train them to "upsell", a tactic used to reel in the shopper to get accessories to go along with whatever they are already buying. Hmmm..
When I go to a big store like Macy's, I want to get in and get out quick. I go with a particular purpose and I don't want to wait on long lines or be told by a "helpful" clerk that I need some concealer with the makeup I'm buying. Oh yeah it happened.
But there is a magical quality to their toy department. I can't explain it. Sure, you'll pay more for their toys than you would at, let's say, Toys R Us, but you won't get that magical experience like you do at Macy's.
