If you find yourself in Bellevue, this is a great sandwich shop. I personally really enjoy the turkey and avocado sandwich, but everything I have gotten there has been good.
One warning: They just got taken over by a new owner and whereas the sandwiches are the same, they no longer have the same combo's, and overall the prices have gone up slightly due to this. I also felt last time I was in there that the quality wasn't quite as good as it used to be, but I think maybe I just need an adjustment period.

The Stranger definitely panders to it's readership, but that's why I love reading the columns. I may not believe everything they are saying, but they always lay it on the line and typically have compelling evidence to back up their claims.
Also, who doesn't enjoy Drunk of the Week and Dan Savage? Not everything has to be serious to be considered mature, and as far as Dan Savage goes, he really says what a lot of us are thinking, its just that he is willing to put it in print. I have seen instances where I disagree with what he is saying, but I don't think he has ever claimed to have all the answers.
I will admit, I probably depend on the stranger for show listings more than anything else, but I always find I have read it cover to cover by the time the next one has come out.

I have always enjoyed this bar, but the reason it gets perfect in my book is that its close to home, has a great jukebox, and plenty of seating.
If I had to pick a downside to it, it's their selection of beer and the music is a bit loud at times. But, my top 3 reasons trump that, and I enjoy the dark, smoky atmosphere and the general lack of pretentiousness.
Also, they do serve your standard fried food until approximately 9 or 10...I never can remember...maybe it's later.

If you sit at the bar, get to know the bartenders, they are always pretty nice and sometimes will hook you up with a beer someone ended up not wanting, etc...

People have mixed reviews of this place, but I say it's worth a shot!

I came here to see Kids in the Hall a few years ago (comedy act) and it was a great theater. I then saw Dave Attell and Mitch Hedburg there (comedy act) and it was great as well.
At that point, the Paramount could do no wrong, but then I saw the Strokes play there (rock act), and in my opinion, it's a horrible place to see a rock show. Maybe it was just a dumb sound engineer and normally it's amazing, but that night was not so good.
If you want to see something more mellow, or theater/comedy, you will love this place.

I was reading someone else's comments about this place, and I have to agree that every time I go in there, it smells kinda weird, and there is so much humidity, I am suprised a thunderstorm doesn't break out.
Beyond that, the sound here is decent, and if you want to see out of the mainstream acts that aren't big enough for the Paramount or Showbox, its either here or El Corazon. Either way, if its an all ages show, forget about drinking beer and watching the bands at the same time...whoever came up with that??? (putting the bar away from the show area)
I know, I know...all ages, but I thought that was what the vera project was for ;)

It's one of the tastiest pieces of chocolate cake I ever had, and it didn't use any dairy!!
I used to come here all the time, and while it was somewhat dirty, the food was always excellent and the prices fair. Ever since the place was "cleaned up" (which I think mostly entailed turning some lights on) the prices have gone up quite a bit and I haven't been back.
It's great to be home cooked on the spot, but the price and the people watching there were always the two largest draws.

The menu has its changes, but if they ever have a gnocchi dish there, its always very good. I also like many of the simple appetizers they offer before the meal.
Parking around there can be a little tight at times, but usually its not too far a walk.

This restaurant has had spotty service at times, but the food has always been great. I really enjoy what they do with tofu and gluten there, and the spicy green beans in hot garlic sauce is very tasty.
This place is much lower key than places like Flora or Carmelita's, but very good nonetheless, and healthy to boot.
