Three pants dry cleaned for six bucks, you can't beat that. Well maybe you can at the dollar dry cleaner but you get what you pay for their. So many people go to the dollar cleaner here but for a couple of extra bucks your clothes stay much nicer and actually look dry cleaned when you pick them up.
The staff here is usually friendly minus one girl who never cracks a smile. They are very quick and always have your clothes ready on time. Their prices are pretty good and your clothes will look great, the best dry cleaner in Mcallen.

Okay, first off I really like the staff at this dry cleaner and it seemed like it was a family owned establishment so I chose to go here over another cleaner. It seemed like they never had my clothes ready when they said they would so I would have to sit and wait while they rushed to iron my clothes as I sat in the non-air conditioned store. Ugh!
Also, I wear a lot of button down shirts and I began noticing that either buttons were missing or like broken as if they had been smashed or severely burned by and iron. This happened to 6 of my shirts.....I have not gone back!

This is a really nice place to go to relax, sit outside and have a few drinks after work. It is usually not busy at happy hour and they serve free munchies on fridays. The outside area is very green with lots of plants and even a fountain. On cool nights they have heaters everywhere so you can still enjoy the fresh air without freezing.
They usually have bands or a dj play inside but that can get really packed if you stay too late. One thing that I hate, and it is a Valley thing, is that in the restroom at most bars/clubs there is a woman who hands you a towel to dry your hands, or use perfume, hairspray etc. I really think it is kind of creepy and I always feel obligated to give her money for a stupid paper towel.

This is a little nursery close to my home that I decide to stop in for a plant for my office. OMG! I ended up with the most absolutely beautiful arrangement of several plants in a huge pot for under twenty five dollars. I will never send flowers again after having this man in the nursery make this arrangement.
They have a large selection in the nursery and it is much bigger than the looks of it from the outside. When you go inside the store they have beautiful jewelry, art, candles and unique things to decorate your home. They are priced pretty reasonably also since everything is so cute. Their staff is always very friendly and helpful.

This review is in regards to the HEB on Pecan in Mcallen. They serve a large variety of Chinese food and even have a seating area. When someone mentioned going to the grocery store to eat Chinese food for lunch I thought they were crazy. Much to my suprise they are always busy and if you want to eat it there it can be difficult to find a table.
I highly recommend their egg rolls and hot and sour soup. The hot and sour soup is the best in Mcallen. Plus, the bonus is that it is really cheap!

We lived in Paradise Village apartments for over a year. The grounds are very tropical with palm trees and lots of greenery. They were decent apartments but definately not "luxury". Each apartment does have a washer, dryer, microwave and dishwasher and your water is included in the rent. It was a pretty quiet place to live except for the occasional car alarm and 15 screaming kids playing all around.
The pool is pretty nice since they decided to put patio furniture and fixed the jacuzzi but the problem is that there is always a lot of children and unknown people that "show up" at the pool despite the gates.

This is a cute little coffee shop hidden in a shopping center off of tenth street. I think they are undergoing some remodeling currently. The decor is all about coffee and it is generally quiet and mellow inside. The coffee is good and they are pretty fast at making cappucino's and latte's.
I stumbled in one day needing "real" coffee but not wanting crappy starbuck's. I always saw moonbeams and thought I would give them a try. Now I prefer Moonbeam's over Starbuck's anyday, not to mention it isn't a big corporate chain.

This particular star's is my favorite because they are fast and always friendly. I usually go to Sonic but have started to switch to Star's. They have huge salads in comparison to Sonic and so you definately get more bang for your buck.
The only thing that I can really complain about Star's is that all of their food is packaged in styrofoam. I am not a big save the earth person but I really don't like that each meal I buy is so much darn styrofoam. So although I may like Star's better my switch from Sonic is about styrofoam waste and thinking about all my boxes and cups sitting in a landfill....kind of makes me feel bad.

I HATE this dealership. Hate isn't a strong enough word. I went to their dealership alone to look at the Toyota Matrix and their small SUV's. I think about 5 salespeople tried to pounce on me. I had my guard up but really wanted to simply test drive cars and was out going to different dealerships.
After I drove both vehicles I decided I didn't want either one but looked at the little sporty Corolla's. It was okay. I was pressured to go in and talk about a trade-in. They were just downright insulting on their first offer for a trade-in and what my "new" payment would be. It was something ridiculous like $600 a month for an economy car.....
I told them no I am leaving now. The man came back two more times with "better" offers and would not give me my keys. I had to stand out and really loudly tell them they were holding me hostage....At this point they were very quick to get me out of there.
I HATE them and no woman should ever fall into their trap.
To top it off the salesman looked like he was going to cry but had the nerve to call me for 3 months about buying that damn Corolla.

Okay so most people only have absolute horror stories about car dealerships and I did too. However, when we purchased a Nissan Xterra at Bert Ogden it was the first time I actually didn't have to wait for hours, didn't feel scammed and like they were talking to me like I was a huge idiot.
To top off our great experience with their friendly staff they would periodically call us after the sale to ask if we still liked our car. We have never once felt ripped off after the fact which I think most people do when the get home and look at the paperwork.
Out of all the car dealerships I visited in search for a new car, this was the ONLY one that didn't make me feel like because I am a woman I don't understand cars or a bad deal and walked away 110% satisfied.
