My best friend has been raving about this spot for a while. She kept telling me how great they are, and how their donuts are crunchy, and how they're good when they're old and so on. Well, I was driving by a Top Pot Saturday morning and thought I would check it out. Surprisingly, she was right. We somehow forgot we had some left over, and they were still good even on Monday.

Zoka's is not good for everyone. I'm sure there are plenty of people who hate the fact that some folks buy a drink and camp out here, but not I. Just the place I am looking for. Whether you need a place to study, or play a game, Zoka's is a great spot to come and chill for a bit. They even have games available for your pleasure.
Be warned, service can sometimes take a while. Be prepared to wait for a table if you're coming during rush hours.
However, do check out the little chocolate silk tarts. Oh so good. Their chocolate silk pie is the larger version. You may find yourself a bit jittery after that indulgence.

He tried the donut shop one day when we were passing by. He didn't want to risk the line at Zoka's, but didn't know what poor luck was in store for him. If you want my advice, risk the wait at Zoka's--it's a better risk.

I've always kept my bowling desires on the down low. It was such a geeky thing to do, and Alex and I were somewhat embarrassed that we had bought our own bowling shoes. Imagine my surprise when I walked into Sunset Bowl on Saturday night to find it absolutely CROWDED with people. It seemed more like a club than a bowling alley. With a bar and restaurant attached, people were gussied up and partying away. I even saw people hitting on each other. Like attractive people. At a bowling alley?! I don't get it.
Our group waited about an hour and a half for the lane before we finally gave up. But not before having some embarrassing fun in the little arcade.

Of course you want to try their famous garlic fries, you won't regret it. I take that back, you may regret it hours later when you realize you still can't get the garlic taste out of your mouth no matter how many times you gargle with Listerine. Our server was funny, and very attentive. He snatched up my drink for a refill the minute I had hit the bottom. And I'm sure the beer is good. I really wouldn't know since none of us drank any, but everyone around us seemed pretty happy.

With the oldies playing over the speaker, and nickel mini juke-boxes at each table that tempt you to pick out your favorite songs, Johnny Rockets is a fun evening meal. So, come ready to eat some burgers and fries. Pretty bad for you, but also pretty tasty.

You know the whole Steven King bit with Redrum being murder spelled backwards. For those of you new to the city, Redrum used to be Murder Burger before they decided they had to do something more politically correct. The food doesn't blow my socks off, but it's pretty solid fare. Try the ostrich burger--pretty interesting. Another favorite of mine are the mini corndogs. So cute, how can you resist?

Everytime we drive by a Dick's, especially the one off 45, there are these huge lines. So, Alex and I went there to see what the buzz is all about. We don't get it. The burger was okay, the fries were soggy, and the shake stunk. I mean, I think I would have had a better meal at a Nations, or maybe even a McDonald's. Individually, the prices are low, but when you get a burger, and shakes, and fries, everything is pretty average. Did I go on an off day?

The ice cream is pretty high grade, and they come with all of these interesting names and mixtures. Alex and I love splitting a banana split, and sitting outside to watch people pass by while we indulge. It does get pretty sweet, do make sure to bring/buy some water.

Alex and I usually ended up at Pluto's whenever we wanted something "healthy" to eat, and were not in the mood to fix it ourselves. For a pretty low price, you get these HUGE salads that more than fill your belly. You get to pick your own toppings, and watch them get tossed together in front of you. If you're looking for a little splurge, ask for some tri-tip on top of your salad. And if you want to throw the whole I'll eat healthy thing out the door, try their garlic fries--oh so good!
