This place has it all: from actual japanese food, to shakes, and the best cream puffs ever. Isn't it amazing that when people wander into a Beard Papa's, they can actually decide that they want lunch rather than dessert? Beard Papa's has great rice wraps, udon, and mango smoothies.Try it once just to say that you've tried it. You won't regret it.
Actually a friend was complaining about my misleading review, since it appears only the Beard Papa's on 40-something St. has food, and that Beard Papa's is actually just the bakery part. I will get back to you once I look into this.

Brasserie 8 1/2 is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with a winding red staircase that leads you to the bar. The seafood is DELICIOUS: fresh lobster, crispy calamari, and moist fish. The food not only tastes good, it looks good as well; the plates, which are decorated with special flowery designs and dots, are very aesthetically pleasing. The desserts and cocktails are also excellent.

Burritoville is a small, cozy little place that leaves you feeling warm and your stomach feeling full on a cold winter's day. Although the menu doesn't contain anything special, the chicken or steak burritoes are both pretty good. I wouldn't seek out Burritoville when searching for a Mexican place, but I would stop in for some of their delicious food if I came across a location in passing.

I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that I absolutely love this museum. What's not to like about a place filled with ancient dinosaur bones, a huge blue whale hanging overhead, an IMAX theater, a big spherical ecosystem full of little shrimp things, and displays of cave men and wooly mammoths? This museum is just plain fun, no matter how old you are. I enjoyed it recently as a young adult just as much as I had as a child.

The first time I went to Cold Stone at 42nd St., I waited in line for 20 minutes. Yes, it was THAT long--it went out the door. After I received my ice-cream, there was no place to sit, or even walk around for that matter. Although the ice-cream was good (I usually get the cheesecake ice-cream with strawberries), it is a little expensive. The ice-cream itself is like 6 dollars and there's an additional $2 charge if you want a special cone. There are many other places have better ice-cream than Cold Stone Creamery, but not many others have their staff sing while they are mashing fruits and nuts into your order. Note: they don't sing unless they get a tip.

I grew up eating ice-cream from Chinatown Ice Cream Factory, so I don't think about the little shop much. That is, until there were rumors that their lease was up and the place was closing. This place is home to some of the most exotic flavors, such as almond cookie, lychee, red bean and taro (all of which are very good). Their prices are constantly rising (then again, whose prices aren't these days?), but once you've tasted their homemade ice-cream you're bound to be back for more.

Ciao Bella has some of the most delicious gelato i've ever tasted in the BIG APPLE. Their ice-cream is not that expensive if you compare it to the prices in Little Italy or other Italian dessert places. Their hazelnut biscotti gelato is to die for, as is their mango sorbet. Plus, it's a good place to run into Lindsay Lohan if you're lucky because she LOVES Ciao Bella.
