Dynasty has a huge selection of Asian goods, and in addition to those, Dynasty also sells those things that people normally find in supermarkets: veggies, cereal, jell-o, chips, etc. I love going to Dynasty because they always have a wide variety of all the snacks I love: lychee jelly, mochi ice-cream, dried cuttlefish, black current gummies, etc. (trust me, I can go on for quite a while). They also sell fresh fish by the front of the store and there is a sushi bar. The sushi is usually fresh and you can see them rolling it in front of your eyes. Although Dynasty is not the cheapest Asian market in Chinatown, it's the biggest.

Serendipty III is apparently the place to be at night, every night. Every single time I go, I have to put my name down and wait outside that small little place. I don't know that it is well worth the wait. The food is only mediocre; decent, but nothing special. Their desserts are HUGE; you definately have to share with a friend or two. The Frrozen Hot Chocolate, although good, is a little tooo chocolaty and sweet. I like the Strawberry Field's sundae and the Apricot Smush, also. Serendipity III is the kind of place you have to try at least once because it's just one of those New York places, the kind that when asked about you'd like to say "Yes, I've been there."

Our name is Mud is such a fun place to go for a date, to hang out with your friends, or just to do something out of the ordinary. You go into the store and pick out something that you would like to paint: bowls, mugs, shot glasses, ashtrays, plates, ashtrays, etc., and you pay for the item and the time you spend there. It's a fun way to pass and in the end you have something that you can say that you semi-made. Well, painted anyway. You have to go back to the store about a week later to pick up your finish item since it needs to be "fired."
If you aren't particularly artistic or don't want an end-product that isn't that pretty, they sell already-made pieces in the store. These are usually pretty cute; I especially love the pig bowl and the entire new york city collection. My only gripe about this place is that I have several mugs and bowls from them and they tend to chip. Still, the experience is a fun one.

I love Union Square's farmers' market because it's the one I most frequent. The cookies are delicious, the apple cider is perfect, and their fruits and flowers are fresh. Their organic goods are some of the best you can find in the city. It's also in a good location; afterwards you can go to the Union Square Dog Park and walk your dog, the kind you can do in public of course.

Minado's is a cheap Japanese buffet that one would definately not expect to find in Manhattan. Lunch is around thirteen dollars and dinner is set at thirty bucks! My friend is allergic to lobster/crab/shrimp and she still found ways to fill her stomach at Minados; she stuck to the oysters/mussels, noodles, and eel rolls. The food was pretty good although the sushi pieces did contain a little too much rice. The dessert line is always very long, but the green tea ice-cream is delicious!

I don't know if this is the place for everyone; with my experience I find that people either hate rice pudding or they love it. If you want good rice pudding in exotic flavors (although I'm not sure how often that craving actually comes up), Rice to Riches is the place to visit. I didn't know what to expect when I first tried rice pudding, but it is actually delicious. I love the look of the place as well, all white with splashes of color and hip with cool tables that hang down from the ceiling (although there are only three tables). Try the Hazelnut Chocolate Bear Hug or Almond Shmalmond.

I love all the 'Wong' restaurants in Chinatown: Big Wong, Big Wing Wong, Sherng Wong, etc. I admit it, they are not great with the service nor is the decor very fancy, but they have authentic Chinese food. The kind of Chinese food that Chinese people are talking about when they refer to Chinese food; none of the fancy fusion food of China Grill or the General Tso's at your local takeout place. The roast pork, soy sauce chicken, roast duck, and roast pig are what I miss most when I am away at school. Just writing this review is making my mouth water. The tripe noodle soup is my favorite, but be warned, the consistency of tripe takes a little getting used to.

I love, love, LOVE, Little Italy; and although Ferrara's is all the way on Grand, away from the other dessert restaurants of Little Italy, I'd venture over there if it meant that I would be able to get some late night gelato. My friends used to work there and so I was there fairly often. The ambience, desserts, and service are all great. Ferrara's will probably be around for a long time; it is a big tourist attraction for those who are in the Chinatown vicinity, and they never seem to be low in customers.

Veniero's is one of the best pastry shops in NYC, and I live right by Little Italy. Sometimes I find myself wandering here after a late-movie or dinner, to get desserts I didn't even know I was in the mood for until I happened to be on 11th St. There is almost always a long line, so you have to wait until they call your number to place your order, but let me tell you, it's well worth the wait. They have the best fruit tarts and their individuals cheesecakes are like like individual pieces of heaven. Although I prefer to get my tiramisu from Sambuca's, Veniero's sure knows how to make a mean tart.

Sure Magnolia's has great cupcakes, why else would they be so famous? I do like their cupcakes, but I can only eat about half a cupcake because they are just so darn sweet. My favorite is the vanillia frosting one, although I usually take some of the frosting off the top. Other times, I like to get the frosting-free cupcakes and that solves the too-sweet problem, although it is actually not as good without frosting. And, I shall leave you with that last run-on sentence.
