Chipotle is one of those places where the food is made in front of you and you can ensure that your order will be made quickly. However, the lines are pretty long at Chipotle and it may take a while to order. Luckily they are only a phone call away; if you call in and order your food, you can swing by pick it up and forego the whole line thing. The guacamole is really good, but it's $1.75 in addition to your food. It's a little expensive, but I simply can't have mexican without some guac on the side. My boyfriend seems to love Chipotle for some reason, and he always wants to go. I mean their food is pretty good, but it's not the best Mexican food I've had. Still, sometimes stopping in for a burrito or a couple of tacos is pretty satisfying hunger fix.

The big red clifford statue out front tells us all about the atmosphere of this children's book shop. Remember those Scholastic book orders you used to order books from as a young kid? Well this is exactly what I imagined that the store that actually sold them would look like. Scholastic prints many successful books and book series, including Captain Underpants, Harry Potter, Clifford, and the David series. This place is just fun; there are tons of toys around and places where you can sit down and read a kids book. The store may be small, but its very well decorated and it simply looks like fun!

Silver Spurs is one of the better diners that I've been to in the city. The place is always packed and the menu has the cutest names for ordinary diner foods. I love diners because they always have huge burgers and coke floats, and Silver Spurs is no different. The portions are pretty generous, their onion rings are delicious, and their milkshakes are pretty decent.

At first, I wanted to try this place because of its cute store name; but now, I want to go to the place because of their awesome fish & chips. They are a little expensive, but it's hard to find more authentic British fish & chips and they have British beer (which is always a plus)! The scallops are shrimp are as delicious as something deep-fried in batter would be, and if you are like my friend (who is allergic to shellfish), the cod and haddock is good as well.

Pommes Frites is a small little shop that seats like three people, but there is always a line of people waiting to get some fries. Their fries are so good, you've never had a fry unless you've tried Pommes Frites (or been to Belgium). The mango sauce is delicious, and they have an assortment of other specialty sauces to dip your fries in. The fries here aren't cheap, you get a cone full for about $4. Be warned, after your first cone you may find yourself wanting another.

Goodie's is famous for their cheap food and their very cheap siew lung baos (steamed dumplings). When you eat in, their dumplings are only $2.50 (as opposed to $4.50 like most other places). However, I can't say that I like their food very much. Also, when they are busy, they usually rush you through your meal so that they can seat other people. I don't go here often, but Goodie's has been around for a long, long time, and that must mean that people do come here often.

When you are in Chinatown at 2am and you are hungry, Yummy Noodle is the prime candidate for some Chinese food. This place is famous for their bo jai faan (rice casserole bowls), which come with many possible toppings: eel, chinese sausage, preserved duck, chicken, mushrooms, and even frog (ew). The rice is slow-cooked in a bowl and then you just pour soy sauce on it and eat it all up. I wouldn't recommend their Singapore mai fun though because the last time I had it there, it was really salty. Other than that though, their food is great!

Lemongrass Grill is not the best thai restaurant I've ever been too, but their chicken satay is very good. Their peanut dipping sauce is the best of all the thai restaurants that I've tried. The pad thai is pretty decent as are their other noodle dishes. This place is nothing special, but the food is pretty decent.

Pie offers a mutated version of the modern pizza pie; the crust is as thin as a cracker and some of the toppings are extraordinary. The pizza is a great change from the average New York slice and it is actually very good. The fresh mozzarella is a must try, as is the tomato and basil. This place is a little pricey, but the stuff tastes great.

Joe's Shanghai is alright; it's not great and there are definately better places to get your Shanghai fix in Chinatown. However, one thing Joe's Shanghai does have going for it is that all the tourists and Chinatown visiters seem to make a pit-stop there. The wait staff is very nice and accomodating (they have chopsticks that are rubberbanded together so that it will be easier for children and non-Asians to use) of their customers. The food isn't really cheap, but once people give it a try, they usually go back.
