I just went to this place for the first time today and it was awesome. The menu is different from most bar/pub fare. I had classic British bangers & mashers and my husband had German bratwurst with some of the best kraut I've ever had in my life. They offer a full bar, but I would definitely go with one of their locally crafted brews (I had the hopzilla which is delicious but every bit as adventurous as described). I already can't wait to go back to try their shepards pie and jambalaya! The prices are well within a comfortable range with their dinners ranging from 8-15 dollars. The local beers are only $3.75 for a very full pint.

This is without a doubt the best Thai restaurant in Boise. The atmosphere is casual and the people their are extremely friendly. I believe it is primarily a family-run restaurant. The menu is filled with all the staples (pad thai noodles, a variety of curries) but also has some dishes I haven't seen elsewhere such as the papaya salad with Thai beef jerky and sticky rice. There are a variety of heat levels to choose from and you can always add more using their spice tray. Also, you can cut the heat sipping a Thai iced tea or coconut drink. I always have a good experience at this place and have been known to go their 2-3 times a month with my husband.

If you're at the mall and craving something cold and icy to refresh you, do NOT go to Orange Julius for a sticky, syrupy mess. Go to Courtside Deli. Their smoothies contain frozen fruit, ice, and smoothy mix and that's it... unless you decide to go for one of their health additives. I usually have myself a blueberry banana smoothie w/ wheatgrass at least once a week.
They also have some pretty all right quiche making it the classiest place in the food court.

Neurolux is best known for having very strong and very cheap mixed drinks. This is either a warning or a recommendation depending on your personality. Personally, I think it's a great venue for shows and carries a fairly nice atmosphere. There is a $3 cover charge on weekend nights after 9 and before 1. I am also not terribly fond of the DJs that play regularly as it's still the normal hip-hop/rap music played in other larger clubs in the area. Overall it's a good place, just needs to find its niche.

West of Philly is conveniently located in the Boise Towne Square area. Though there is a diverse variety of sandwiches waiting to appeal to any and every taste, the most impressive thing I noticed are there potato side choices. Smiley fries are good, but I'm a sucker for their fresh potato chips with your choice of seasoning. It's a nice place for lunch or to grab a sandwich on the go for a fully filling meal at home.

I finally had the opportunity to enjoy food from the Westside Drive-in about a month ago. I had a reuban meal complete with seasoned fries and a soda drink called a "goober special" with vanilla icecream and peanut butter in ginger ale. I followed this up with one of their famous ice cream potatoes. Needless to say my stomach just about exploded, but what a way to go!
The menu is so diverse and has everything from your usual burgers/sandwiches to pasta and spare ribs to even such classic kiddie favorites as a nutterfluffer (peanut butter and marshmallow cream on white bread).
It's a popular place so there is almost always a line, but it's well worth the wait.

Pastry Perfection really is just that. The prices are well within a comfortable range with most highly delectable patries (cream puffs, neopolitans, etc) falling right at $2 even. They taste scrumptious so while I have never gotten hold of one of their recipes, I'd venture to guess it's chock full of real butter and cream and other things that make the phrase "death by chocolate" all too realistic.
The staff is kind and seem to really enjoy what they do (and can you blame them?). I believe they're open till 7 in the evening unlike most bakeries thus making them the perfect place to hit up if you have an early evening sweet tooth.

I'd been to a PF Changs resturant previously in San Diego. I thought it was the best Chinese food I had ever had. So I was doubly pleased when I heard one was opening up here in Boise. I think the excitement of the resturant has finally died down so the waits are minimal and the waitstaff is less harried. My original experience at the Boise location was unpleasant for that reason. I'd like to think they have improved in that area.
I would recommend the specialty ribs they have available as an appetizer. The meat is so tender is practically melts and the sauce is a nice combination of sweet and spicy. This place will cost you a pretty penny but it's worth it to have non-greasy, flavorful Chinese fare.
They also offer a full bar with all kinds of frou frou
drinks. But a small pot of tea is inexpensive and just as well completes the experience.

While there is nothing inherently wrong with Mai Thai, there's nothing quite right about it either. The atmosphere is lively and the drinks are colorful. I would venture to call it a cocktail bar that just happens to serve Thai food rather than an actual Thai food resturant. If you're into an evening of atmosphere, this is the place to be. However, if you'd rather just get some tasty Thai food in a relaxed setting, there are better places. And the prices at said places are less terrifying as well.

Reef has unique food for little ol' landlocked Boise. The menu ranges from sandwiches to grilled fish all with a Southern Pacific flair. Generally the menu is a bit expensive, but it's about the same as other resturants in the area.
They also offer a range of tropical drinks from the classic mojito (my personal fave) to a zombie that is so strong, you're limited to just one!
The only down side is with an ever changing menu, your favorite item might just be the one kicked off.
