Ode to the upper deck 3/31/2006

The McAfee Coliseum, home of the Oakland A's and the Raiders, is a pleasant place to take in a ballgame on a summer afternoon. Although it's located in a not-so-nice neighborhood in Oakland, it's also perched right next to BART, which makes it an attractive destination nonetheless - it's easy to get in and out; no fighting to get out of a packed parking lot. There are a variety of seating options available from field level to the outfield, although they've closed the upper deck for baseball season starting this year. It's definitely an older park and more suited to football than baseball in basic design, it's still a good park with plenty of concession stands and restroom facilities available. My one complaint is the lack of baby changing tables in the restrooms. They really should have them. Other than that, fun place. more
