I don't live in Denver anymore and one of things I miss most is this great store. Great service, an incredible array of spices and tools, and it just smells GREAT. Now that BBQ season is in full swing, I have made more than one on-line visit to add to my spice collection. They offer discounts for personal chefs too!

I've been to Pure twice, in the hopes that the second visit would be better than the first, but no dice. I have gotten my nails done twice here, and the technicians are very skilled, clean and do a nice job. The ambiance is very classy - you will certainly forget that you are on Queens Boulevard, and although I've never had anything done other than the nail services they offer massages, facials, and tanning so it's nice to have these options in Sunnyside and not have to go into the city.
The problem I have is with the front desk staff. They are extremely prissy and rude. God help you if you don't have an appointment, asking for one if you walk in is like asking for a table at the most expensive restraurant in the world. Keep in mind people it's a salon next door to a Burger King and a bodega. I expect this attitude on Park Avenue, not here. You will wait even if you have an appointment and I felt invisible until one of the three (3??) receptionists looked over and said "oh, she's still here."
I recommend this if you need specialized spa services, because once you get past the snootyness the service is good. Otherwise it's probably not worth it for nails...there's tons of cheaper places in the neighborhood who will actually act pleased that you've come to spend your money there.

I've been trying for years to become a professional writer. To turn my comedic ability into something that will, well, pay the bills. I have taken many seminars and writing programs in the city but never really felt that I was getting much out of them. That is until I became involved with Writers Bootcamp. I am in their 22 month Think Tank Program and am just about to finish my second screenplay. It has helped me become much more efficient in my writing - it truly teaches you how to become 'professional' in your writing. Although the goal is to get an agent or sell a script (BOTH!?) by the end of this program, the skills I have learned are enough success for me. It's not for everyone - expensive (though not as expensive as getting a M.F.A. would be) - and they are big on their own way of breaking down a story (leave your Robert McKee books at home). But definitely check it out. You can try their 6 week Bootcamp Program if you're a beginner, or commit to the Think Tank if you have more experience.

I have been going to Debra at the Face Station for nearly 5 years now. I am always happy with the cut and color, it always feels like visiting family when I am there. They also offer great facial and waxing services, and you can even take makeup classes there. I definitely recommend!
