On Saturday, my mother-in-law and I took a trip to Easton to Candee Farm to pick fresh fruit and vegetables.
It was like being a kid again. There was no need for fashionable clothes or perfectly coiffed hair. Just a Micky Mouse t-shirt, shorts and for the accessory "des jour" a bucket tied around my neck. (I was picking raspberries.)
My mother-in-law and I picked (and nibbled). I was hoping that I did not have any evidence on my face from all the fun I was having! (I am glad they do not weigh people before they start picking, I would have been charged for an extra pound or two when I checked out!)
I am in heaven eating fresh, delicious tomatos, peppers and cucumbers. I am trying to get a healthy mind set again (see previous writings about my adoration of nachos). ...more later on the elliptical machine I purchased to compliment the vegetables.
I recommend a day of picking vegetables, fresh air and plain old fashion fun! This "Candee" is good for you!

I resisted the urge of joining Netflix for quite some time, but recently decided to take a chance on this new way of renting movies. It was not too daring to do and I have to admit, I recommend it with this pre-caution: "if you are married make sure your husband can access the account and select movies."
I selected a reasonable but frugal account type. Two movies at a time, unlimited. If you have a family of different personality-types you may want to be able to rent more than that at one time. You can NOT hear the movie when someone is complaining in your ear.
Selecting a movie is fairly easy, but for me it is going to take some getting used to. I can't remember movie titles and I don't fall into any certain movie profile either.
Automated suggestions for rentals do not fit my mood. If I could make a suggestion to Netflix, perhaps they should have a genre for the emotional movie viewer like me. Oh, and include a coupon for ice-cream, too! ... At least my husband will enjoy the ice-cream if I pick a movie he hates!

Directors for the Connecticut Association of Realtors have approved the creation of a statewide multiple listing service.
In a 78-32 vote on July 18, association directors approved the creation of a not-for-profit corporation, Connecticut Multiple Listing Service Inc., that will operate a statewide MLS. The corporation will be governed largely by brokerage company representatives.
Supporters have said that MLS regionalization efforts can reduce the cost and complication in joining several MLSs in a given market area. Regional and statewide MLSs can share property data, rules and forms among members.

The Red Barn is not only a usable landmark for driving instructions, but it is a terrific place to stop.
I prefer a restaurant that is a feast for the eyes as well as the palette. The Red Barn has a comfortable atmosphere that is warmed with antique wall displays.
On occasion, I have had delicious corporate luncheons there. I liked the food so much that when one of my new agents sold his first property, I celebrated his success by taking him and his wife to the Red Barn for dinner.
The Red Barn is a great dining experience. Reward yourself and others with a visit to the Red Barn.

If I were to have a last meal (and my mother wasn't available to cook) I would choose nachos from Taco Loco. When I am in the mood (which is more often than I like to admit) I order what my daughter affectionately calls a "Trough of Nachos". There is mucho chips, fresh salsa, black beans and meat. The meal is huge and plenty for my small family. The take out meals are delicious, affordable and generous. It is also nice to eat at the restaurant, too.
Taco Loco's service is courteous and the atmosphere is casual and relaxing. There is even al fresco dining, but since the equator recently relocated to Connecticut, I would suggest eating inside with the air-conditioning. (If you like it hot, order extra jalapenos.)
