I love getting facials, and I found that this place does a really good job! It's a small, cute place on Green Lake, and all the spa workers are very professional. They also have a great line of skin care products such as Dermologica and Dr. MD. The prices of facials are comparable to other spas, I think I paid $80 plus tips. I really like the products they use and they're really good at explaining to me what my problem areas are and what I need to do to clear the congestion on my skin. I used to go here once a month, but it does get pricey if you go every month! I think every other month is good.

I love this grocery store! It's located in the Great Wall Mall in East Valley. They have everything there, fruits, veggies, and all the Asian condiments and snacks for cheap! The meat and fish here are really cheap. I love fried fish but I hate frying it at home because of the oily smell. I normally go here to get my deep fried whole fish and eat it for dinner. The downside is it gets really crowded and it's hard to maneuver around the store with your cart. Sometimes it gets pretty congested in the store with all the carts lying around, but the deals are great! Highly recommended for those who cook a lot and need to buy cheap groceries!

I haven't tried any other Malaysian restaurants in the Seattle area except the Malaysian Satay Hut. The service is not exceptional or anything, but the food is definitely very flavorful.
My favorite dishes there are the Hainese Chicken (steamed chicken with soy sauce and cucumber), the String Beans (comes with shrimp and sautéed in shrimp and chili paste), and of course the roti (a version of nan bread, but a bit lighter and thinner, served with curry on the side). If you like sweet and sour dishes, try their shrimp with mango, served in a mango. The food there is pretty consistent, I don't think I remember any bad dishes there.
The downside? Like any other good restaurants out there in the ID, it just gets very crowded during then lunch and dinner rush. They also have another location in Bellevue and I if you can beat the crowd, I highly recommend this place!

I was there last night for a friend's birthday dinner. Before going, I went to city search and read the reviews, which were all very positive. The reviews recommended the steak tartare and the onion soup which sounded pretty tasty. The tartare is a meaty indulgence of Kobe sirloin hand-chopped with herbs and capers. When we arrived, the service was great and the place is definitely really cute! We were really excited, for appetizers we ordered the foie gra pate, spicy pork pate, and the bone marrow. We each also ordered the French onion soup. We were pretty hungry, and when our first course came out, the pates, let's just say we weren't impressed. They chilled their pates, so there was a very visible layer of fat that you can see. As for the taste, it was a bit bland, but the baguette was good though! The bone marrow was interesting, it's basically a cow's bone probably braised. The bone came out plain, no accompanying garnishes. You eat what's inside the bone marrow, which pretty much tasted very bland, oily, and fatty. I've had lots of French food, but this dish is definitely different and I can't say I liked it. Our next course was the onion soup, I was thinking this was raved about it must be really good. Well, the soup came in a hot bowl which looks pretty cool. But when I digged into it, it was way too cheesy and lacking in the onion. The broth was good, but overall, not as amazing as everybody thought. Quite disappointed at this point, I was looking forward to my steak tare-tare, that's what most of us ordered. The main course finally came out, accompanied with some fries. I tried my first bite and was disappointed! The tartare was so salty! They overdid on the capers, every bite I took had about 5-10 pieces of capers and the Dijon honey mustard was too overpowering, I couldn't taste the beef. It wasn't just me, my three other friends also thought it was too salty. We each ate about a 1/4 of it and left it. The fries were also very salty. The whole meal was just salty. By the end of our meal we were just disappointed with the whole experience, that we didn't really want to try the dessert. Besides the food being really ok, the service was excellent and the decor of the place was very nice! However, I'm not sure if I would come back to the place. If I do, I will definitely try the seafood, since the table next to us had it and it looked pretty good.

I just came back from Thai Ginger in Redmond, and like I remembered, the place is still very crowded during lunch, but the portion of the food is definitely different. For the two of us, we ordered, panang curry and curry fried rice. We were expecting to be full, but we were left with wanting to eat more food! Maybe I'm just a big eater, but I think they could afford to give us just a little more. As for the food, still pretty good as I remembered it to be, I only wish the portions were bigger.

I just came back from Sichuanese Cuisine and the hot pot never disappointed me! I usually get the all you can eat hot pot with the half spicy and half plain soup. It comes with beef, napa cabbage, vermicelli noodle, tofu, and pot stickers, all for 9.99/person! They also have really good Chinese food as well. The place is a little cramped and it's also very crowded, but if you come before the dinner rush, you should be able to get a table quickly. They have two location, one on Jackson, and another in Redmond. I highly recommend the hot pot!

On a normal work day I always frequent Starbucks. But on the weekends, one of my favorite place to go to is Zoka. It is located in Green Lake, a bit hard to find but definitely worth the search. I love how they roast their own coffee and their pastry is also really good. I used to study here all the time. Unlike Starbucks, who charges for Internet service, Zoka provides free Internet! The only thing is it's really crowded when school is in session, so you might have to wait for tables. Otherwise, it's definitely worth a visit. I also like their coffee too. It doesn't have that burnt taste to it like Starbucks does. I'm not saying I don't like Starbucks, I love the experience and the customer service, I just prefer something different on the weekends. Highly recommended!

I've heard great things about Monsoon, how the food is great and the service is exceptional. I decided to try it out with my fiance. We had reservations, but the wait to be seated was about half an hour! By that time I was starving and any little free bread would have helped. I waited and waited, and finally, after waiting for 20 minutes the waiter came and took our order! We weren't even offered water during that wait period. I was pretty annoyed by that time. We've decided to order the catfish in clay pot and a vegetable dish with rice. Our food didn't come for another 20 minutes. Finally, when it came, I realized how small the portions were. My fiance and I looked at each other and was like, maybe we need to order more. We decided that if were to order another dish it might have taken another half an hour. We just settled on what we have. Now, moving on to the food, the clay pot catfish costs us $18, and it was good, but I've had better at the Vietnamese restaurants in the ID for $8. The veggies (rau muon xao toi) which was supposed to be the traditional Vietnamese dish didn't turn out to be very traditional. It was just plain veggies stir fry with olive oil and some garlic. Not as tasty as what I remembered it be. After paying, we felt for unsatisfied with our food and still hungry. Although the decor is nice but the service was horrible and the food was really just mediocre. I don't think I would ever come back. If I wanted good Vietnamese food, I would go any of the restaurants in the ID.

Hidden away from the ID, Saigon Bistro has the best duck soup in town (also known as Bun Mang Vit). The bowl of soup comes with rice noodle and bamboo. Accompanying the soup is the a side duck salad with the ginger fish sauce to drizzle on top. Yum...I love this dish and I've tried it at several places, but Saigon Bistro is the best. They also have a booth inside the Uwajimaya food court. As for the decor of the place, it's very old and not the cleanest place of all, but it does offer the whole in the wall feeling with very quick service. Better than some of the nicer restaurants where you have to wait for hours to get a seat! If you want good food and quick service, this is the place to be!

I love sushi! I've been frequenting Tokyo's for Japanese food over the past week! Their portions are huge and the serivce is exceptional! I was greeted when I arrived and when I left the wait staff and chef would say thank you and bow. So cool. My favorite dish there is the beef sukiyaki and nabeyaki udon. If you love sushi rolls, they have a huge selection of it! I highly recommend this place.
