This place is a fantastic concept for any woman who loves purses/handbags and being creative. Their location on Newbury Street is so much fun! First, you pick out the specific model of purse that you would like to create, they have samples made out of all black fabric just to show you the shape and size. Then, you pick several different fabrics to make your purse from! They have large swatches of tons of different fabrics hanging on hangers along all the walls. It’s so fun to look at all the endless possibilities. Once you’ve made all your decisions the helpful staff write everything down for you, and in a few weeks your bag will arrive at your house! Voila!

Such a cool shop! There is one in Harvard Square, and another on Beacon Hill. There are bins of original and unique greeting cards, which are a great alternative to Hallmark! The shelves are full of cool items from soaps, mugs, toys, maps, notebooks, etc. The prices can be a bit expensive, but if you often see items here that you cannot find elsewhere, so it can be worth the price!

Since they moved to the other side of the Square, I actually like the new digs better! There’s much more room now, and it’s a more refined dining experience. Their food prices are a bit expensive for the quality that you get – but people are willing to pay those prices in Harvard Square. The atmosphere is nice, the service is good, and it’s a great gathering spot of people of all ages.

The Rosebud has been around in Davis forever. They do a good job with classic diner fare, and I definitely prefer it for brunch on the weekends, though that's when most everybody else goes too....
The Rosebud has been around in Davis forever. They do a good job with classic diner fare, and I definitely prefer it for brunch on the weekends, though that's when most everybody else goes too. Their dinner menu is decent, and the classic standbys are good here... but stick to the burgers and fries and items like that. Their salads aren't very fresh at all. The service can be up or down, but dining in a true old diner car is a fun experience anyway!

O'Sullivan's is known around Boston for the best burgers. They are hand-made HUGE thick patties - not those frozen hockey pucks you get at most places. They are so thick that they'll tell you upfront that it takes 20 minutes to cook them! And, it is definitely worth the wait. Paired with their french fries - YUM! I've never actually been able to finish a whole burger - but it's not for lack of trying!

As others have said, Sound Bites will never disappoint in terms of their fabulous breakfast offerings. However, depending on what type of atmsophere you're looking for - Sound Bites may disappoint. If you go on a weekend, expect to wait. But, the wait won't be too long, b/c the staff rushes diners through their meals in order to seat the next party in line. It can get a little ridiculous! You appreciate when you're the person standing in line - but you are completely annoyed by it when you're being forced to swallow without chewing in order to free up the table! My suggestion - go on weekdays, later in the morning. It's an entirely different atmosphere, where you can enjoy your delicious food without the frenzy!

I fell in love with Mystic Pizza as a kid. On family car trips to visit my grandparents we would stop at Mystic Pizza and grab a slice. I have always compared every pizza I've ever had to a Mystic pizza. I think the secret is in the sauce - it has a mild garlic-y flavor to it that most sauces don't have. It doesn't taste overly tomato-based - you taste the garlic and oregano most. AND, as an added bonus, you can buy frozen Mystic Pizzas at your local grocery stores too! It is by far the BEST frozen pizza you have ever had! Check it out!

Valvoline does a good job with oil changes, but I've always found their system to be a bit weird. You sit in your car while the change the oil and you listen to them shout code commands to each other, and then they get repeated back so that they know the guy under your car heard them correctly. It's very strange. But, they are nice, and they get you in and out of their quickly. Lines can be long on Saturdays - go early if you can. I think Valvoline does a much higher quality job than Jiffy Lube - so I'm willing to spend the $8 more. If you join their MVP program, you get coupons and reminders in the mail. And, they have a free fluid top-off service. If your fluid run out any time between oil changes, you just drive in and the refill them for free. This is great for windshield fluid, especially in the winter!
