It's no secret that Melbourne is not known for great shopping. When I feel the need to shop I like to go to Orlando or Palm Beach. However, I often find myself at Melbourne Square when I need something right away. I would say I shop there a few times a month.
It is just a boring mall, nothing exciting about it. It is clean enough and obviously they (I think it is a Simon managed mall) are trying to improve it. They have added a nice children's play area. However, the problem is that Melbourne consumers, in general, would fail to support better stores such as Nordstrom or Bloomingdales. I wouldn't be surprised if those stores came to Melbourne but if they did it would most likely be at The Avenues.
