My husband and I just spent our first anniversary on Salt Spring Island in the Canadian Gulf Islands and it was perfect!
We stayed at All Seasons Bed & Breakfast: http://www.allseasons-saltspring.ca/ which was great. Quiet, secluded location, very comfortable room, your own bathroom, heated floors, amazing breakfast brought to you each morning....
No TV, which was actually a really nice change for a few days. We took some portable speakers and our ipods with us.
This time of year, I think the Saturday Market will be going on. There are cool artist studios all over the island.
