Ok, so the Island Grill used to be a really nice place to go to dinner on the island. The food was upscale, the service amazing and all at a reasonable price. Don't bother to go there now! Last two times we were there were HORRIBLE...the french fries had been cooked in the same oil as the fish n chips (which we didn't order) and the rest of the food was "ok". They have a kids eat free policy on Tuesday, but they blatantly insulted my friend who has 8 kids (adopted from all different backgrounds) when they told her she couldn't "bring the whole neighborhood" on kids eat free night. Don't bother going here....you'll be disappointed.

This started out as a "different" McDonalds, there is no neon sign, there was no styrofoam containers (that were popular when this McDonald's opened) and it was a tough sell for an island that didn't really want it here. Now it's typical, everyday McDonald's...no better, no worse. It's convenient to drive thru if you need to eat something fastb, as there is no other drive thru on Bainbridge.

Great spot on the way to get on the ferry. If you are a walk-on passenger or waiting in line in your car, this is a quick stop before getting on the boat. The coffee is great, the service is experienced and friendly. They also serve bagels and cookies, other quick grab and eat items. I would highly recommend it to anyone and they are open in the early commuting hours which makes it a plus!

What a treasure on Bainbridge! Bainbridge Bakers is a great spot to sit and take in the quaintness of this beautiful island. They have amazing coffee and their baked goods are to die for. Our boys love the multigrain pullaparts (they also have them full of jam) and their cookies have a seasonal flair. Prices are decent and the atmosphere is great, whether sitting inside or enjoying the outdoor seating.

Oustanding house blend coffees, with a quiet atmosphere to sit back, chat with friends and enjoy the true coffee shop atmosphere. Step back from Starbucks and get real with Pegasus coffeehouse. They have great performances here on certain nights as well. It's perfect for boaters coming in (as it's just up from the marina) but a little off the beaten track for toursists coming by ferry. It's a great spot, though!

The Blue Star Diner is located just in front of the Kid's Museum so if you are planning on taking a trip to the museum you may want to add a stop afterward for lunch at the diner. The food is good, but expensive for what it is. The kids enjoyed the cheeseburger and fries and the macaroni and cheese is always a hit. They have great service and a fun (but small) atmosphere.

The Blackbird Bakery is located in the middle of Winslow Way, with great seats that are facing the windows overlooking the main street. Especially during summer months, there are plenty of tourists walking by and it makes a great spot to people watch while having a freshly baked pastry (yum!) and a great espresso drink. I would highly recommend it, we love their coffee and our kids love the Charlie Brown cookies, too!

Town and Country (or T&C as the locals call it) is not your typical grocery store. There is an abundance of organic produce and natural items available. They have the typical grocery items as well, but it tends to be a little more expensive than most chain stores. It is very clean and the employees are always friendly. There are tables where you can sit in the floral/magazine section and get a freshly brewed espresso drink.
