I am extremely happy with the new restaurant in Watertown called Grappa. I saw a picture posted online, but I don't think it has been reviewed locally, at least not yet. It's on a tiny side street which is industrial and residential, you would never think of looking here. The place is amazing - very charming, small, with hardwood floors and very pretty lighting - the bar area is beautiful. We were seated promptly and served delicious bread with garlic slivers baked right into the dough - yummy. They have a good wine list and their food is delicious. Be advised that they prepare your meal to order, it does not look as though the food is pre-cooked and then finished - so the enormous pork chops cooked with peppers did take some time - but they were perfect. My chicken was scrumptious, one of the best meals out I have had in a while. There is a short dessert menu which changes daily - we were too full to stay, but took cannolis to go (again, perfect). Service is very attentive and the owners and staff are delightful, do go and visit. They are open Tues - Sat and appear to take major credit cards (no signs posted yet, but our card was accepted).

I can't tell you how surprised I was at how quickly this went up, and how many stores there are. I used to be in Weymouth fairly often, and the location was a sad Building 19, with an abandoned Bradlees on one side and another similarly sad building on the other, in the middle of an enormous empty lot. A while back I noticed signs from the highway for Barnes & Noble and Crate & Barrel, and finally one night drove in to check it out. The Shoppes at Derby Street is one of the nicest outdoor malls I've seen in quite a while - there are over 75 stores, in a big U-shape, with plenty of parking and several restaurants. The stores are large and well stocked, some well known chains (Talbots, Coldwater Creek) and some that I haven't seen elsewhere (Pretty in Pink, Shoe Market, Social Graces); there is also a wine store, Panera Bread, and a Whole Foods market, so you could get a great deal accomplished. This was a great shopping trip, would definitely do it again! http://www.thederbystreetshoppes.com/

I recently discovered the Stone Hearth Pizza restaurant in Belmont - what a lovely place. The restaurant is very pretty, with comfortable seats and nice lighting. The pizzas are varied, and are on a thin flatbread-style crust. The menu is very creative - we decided to try the cheeseburger pizza. It was absolutely delicious and arrived VERY quickly, it seemed as though we just waited for a few minutes. There are also salads, drinks, and desserts, so we will definitely have to go back for more. Do go and check it out, it's the perfect break during a shopping trip, or a nice evening out. http://stonehearthpizza.com/

I would highly recommend the Sunny Side Cafe for breakfast. They have an extensive menu, I can't wait to try more things. I went with a group and we all ordered eggs - perfectly done, great sauce on my Eggs Benedict (of which there were at least 6 variations), yummy home fries and many bread choices. Portions are generous but not ridiculous. There is a choice between regular home fries and spicy, be advised that the spicy is exactly that! The coffee was also very good, and the wait staff was attentive and very helpful. Even though there was a big crowd, the line moved quickly and we were seated promptly. This restaurant is cash only, and closes early in the afternoon.

A friend recommended this restaurant, as I was looking for a place to meet friends for lunch. What a treat, I highly recommend it! It's just a few minutes from South Station, and it was packed at 12:00, but we got a table right away with no wait. Service was very attentive and the food was wonderful! Lunch was served promptly, we were able to linger, and my friend said her coffee was the best cappuccino ever. The restaurant is very charming with brick and woodwork, not noisy although it was very busy. Go, treat yourself!

Rasoi's is delicious, but I would never have found it if I wasn't with someone who had been there before! Very clean, quiet, great service and a nice lunch buffet. The food was great and included several desserts, which was a nice touch. A good choice when you are looking for a nice relaxing lunch, we were in and out quickly.

I have been to Clancy's for both brunch and dinner, what a treat. Great restaurant, friendly and attentive service, and really delicious food. I had the steak tips and actually received several small steaks, perfectly cooked. Appetizers were also wonderful, everything was served promptly and was very reasonably priced. Enjoy!
