World Food Warehouse is a small grocery store in North Dallas off of TI Boulevard. It has a lot of hard-to-find ethnic foods from Eastern Europe, Greece, India, and the Middle East. The organization of the store could be improved with more signage, but it is a rather small store so it still doesn't take long to find anything. There is a wonderful deli with the most extensive selection of Greek olives I've seen anywhere plus some sweets such as baklava. The meat department carries halal meats, and there is a small produce section, but the emphasis is more on prepared foods - canned and boxed - rather than fresh foods. Going to World Food Warehouse is always interesting because I always find something I've never tried before.

Shades of Green nursery in Frisco has the best selection of native plants I've seen in this area. As a bonus, because they're native to Texas, they require a lot less water which is perfect for the water restrictions Collin County residents now face. They also tend to be heat-loving and more disease- and pest-tolerant thus requiring little to no fertilizer and pesticide. In line with that philosophy, Shades of Green carries an extensive selection of organic products for the lawn and garden. It is an independent nursery so you get personal service. The employees have been quite helpful on offering care tips for the plants they sell. Shades of Green is located on Coit Road 2 miles north of 121 in Frisco.

Inspector General does a good job of home inspection with weekend and evening hours if you desire for your appointment. When my new house was coming up on its 11 month warranty service, I got a home inspection from Inspector General to make sure I got everything fixed since I would have to start paying for repairs after that. The home inspection was very thorough including the roof, attic, plumbing, exterior and interior of the house. I received a clearly written report with pictures to show the warranty repairman who was then able to quickly pinpoint the issues.

Studio Movie Grill is a fun place to go on occasion for a movie. It is a chain with three locations in Texas. You will find the same movies there as at the typical local multiplex with the additional option of eating a full meal while you watch the movie. I will say that the service could be a little quicker. Also, the food is okay, but it is fast food. However, the overall experience is fun. The theater is clean considering the amount of eating that occurs there. One bonus is that the seats are spaced further apart than in other theaters to accomodate tables for the food.

Operation Kindness in Carollton is the largest no-kill shelter in the DFW area. My parents got our family dog there in 1988, and I got the first of my two cats there in 2000. I also volunteered there for about a year prior to moving. You can tell the volunteers and staff alike really care for the animals. If you have concerns about adopting a specific animal such as behavioral problems or will the animal get along with other pets or children, the adoption counselor can answer your questions. You do have to go through an adoption interview because the shelter is very serious about making sure the animals adopted out go to good homes and don't have to come back to the shelter. It is, however, a pleasant experience. I also highly recommend volunteering there.

Scotty P's meals are always enough to share, especially the sides such as the cardiac fries with lots of cheddar, chives, bacon bits, and jalapeรฑos and the huge onion rings. On the burger menu, I've tried the Preston Trail burger, the mushroom cheeseburger, and the Interurban. The burgers are large (6 oz.) and taste homemade. I've also eaten the Chris P. Chicken sandwich which must have had a whole chicken breast on it. Scotty P's can be crowded on the weekends, but the wait is never too long as the customers seem to move through pretty quickly. The decor is nostalgic, and this is definitely a family-oriented restaurant. However, I am always curious to know if anyone has ever ordered the Scotty P's Ultimate Meal Deal of two burgers, fries, rings, and Dom Perignon which is listed on the menu for $199, if I recall correctly.

Every time I've gone to Eye Care Associates in Richardson, my appointment has started on time. I'm able to schedule my appointment for my lunch hour and not worry about being late getting back to work. They've also always provided good fittings for my new glasses, and were able to quickly get replacements for lenses I'd scratched. The prescriptions have always been correct, and the receptionist is friendly. The waiting area looks nice though I've never had to spend much time there. Overall, this is the best place I've been for eye exams and buying new glasses.

My only complaint about the Target where I shop is that it's not a Super Target so that I would be able to grocery shop there, too. The pharmacy staff is very quick at filling prescriptions and you can set up your prescription to refill automatically and be ready for pick-up. I like the selection of products in the pets department, and the health and beauty department is also well-stocked. A direct comparison of an identical item almost always shows the price at Target to be lower than at the grocery store. Making a return has always been quick and easy for me. The store is clean and well-organized.

I've been going to Dr. Gabrielle J. Patterson for my annual physicals for four years now. Her office is conveniently located in a medical office building which is attached to the Richardson Regional Hospital. Also, there is a women's health center in the same office building if you need additional diagnostic tests. She is very patient about answering all my questions about diet or exercise or anything else. I am usually able to get an appointment within a week or two at most whenever I call. The nurses and receptionist have always been quite pleasant and professional, too.

I enjoy going to Ross because I never know what exactly I'll find there to take home. The prices, of course, are great, and the store carries designer brands. Aside from clothes, the store also carries shoes, accessories, and some household items (decor and a few kitchen gadgets). The women's clothing section includes lingerie, sleepwear, dresses, skirts, pants, outerwear, and tops along with petite, maternity, and plus size sections. There are also men's and children's sections. I like the Plano store because it's bigger and cleaner than some of the other locations I've visited though I do still think they could further improve in organization. This is definitely the first store I go to during the annual sales tax holiday.
