Amy's Ice Cream

Amy's is an Austin classic. Quite simply, their ice cream can't be matched by anyone else in town. Don't get me wrong, I love my Blue Bell. But, Amy's has that extra something to theirs.
If you're on a date, need a pick-me up or simply driving around with nothing to do, Amy's is the place to go. They have a really good variety but their Mexican Vanilla is their bread-and-butter. Match it with any of their mix-ins and you've got yourself a real gem.
If you're going to the one by Central Market, just watch out for the after-movie crowd. Every two hours or so, there will be a line out the door trying to get their ice cream scoops, so if possible go during their down times.
