Located in Soho, Woo Lae Oak is an expensive Korean restaurant that cannot compare to the Korean restaurants in Korean Town. Sure the decor is fancier and service more attentive, but the food is subpar. Save your money and head to Korean Town where there are plenty of restaurants offering authentic Korean food at much lower prices!

I loved every minute of my experience at Asiate. When I first stepped into the restaurant, I was enamored with the decor of the space. Our party sat at a booth with a partial view of Central Park. The view was of course breathtaking. When the food came, I felt complete. It was as if all my senses had been pampered. What a truly unforgettable experience!

Union Square Cafe has always been one of the top 5 most popular restaurants in Zagat so I decided to give it a shot. Everything I ordered from appetizer to dessert was at best so-so. My friend was less fortunated and had to deal with soup which tasted like grease. At least when he complained to the waiter, the waiter said he'd take it off the bill. Overall, definitely nothing to write home about.

If you are a fan of Sushi of Gari, you will also enjoy Sushi Seki. For slightly lower prices than Sushi of Gari, you will be able to enjoy the chef's special (omakase) at Sushi Seki. The sushi was creative and delicious. The waitresses messed up our order once but that did not take away from the experience. All sushi lovers should check out this place!

Zagat gave this midtown Japanese restaurant a fairly high rating so I decided to check it out on a Saturday evening. My friend and I both ordered the chef's special (omakase) and nothing else. Our bill came out to be $180 and after we left, we headed for another restaurant because we were still very hungry. The place did not even fill up on a Saturday night. The sushi/sashimi was good but I would not pay $90 per person for it again.

For sushi/sashimi that melts in your mouth, visit Sushi of Gari. It is probably one of my favorite sushi restaurants in the city. Remember to order chef's choice (omakase) if you decide to go. It is far better than their regular sushi or sashimi combos. Of course, the decor is non-existent and service so-so, but you go there just for the food.

This is one of the most romantic restaurants in the city (it is actually located in Brooklyn) although a bit too crowded in my opinion. I enjoyed every single one of the dishes from my tasting menu. The waiter was nice enough to let me switch one of the dishes. Make sure you book way in advance if you are planning on dining on the weekend.
