noodle restaurant on the east side near the united nations serves a variety of noodle soups with other small dishes. the noodle soups are very yummy and way cheap. good place for a casual meal especially if you live in the area because the food tastes good, service is quick, and it is inexpensive. whenever i can't think of where to dine, i always go here and am always happy with what i get.

i absolutely love the decor at this place. i will never forget the enormous Buddha! the space is really big (3 levels of seating). restaurant serves asian dishes (mainly chinese and japanese and thai). service is so so and food wasn't particularly memorable but the ambiance makes this place worthy of at least a visit. but make sure to go in the evening to enjoy the scene.

the best guacamole made at your table - this is a must order if you visit the restaurant. the atmosphere is lively and loud. also great margaritas and sangrias! we kept ordering pitchers after pitchers of the sangrias. good place to hangout with friends and good for celebrations too. reservations fill up fast especially for the weekend nights so make sure you call early!

i visited periyali for dinner during restaurant week. my friend ordered from the restaurant week and i ended up just ordering a la carte. my friend had the lamb chop and i ordered a whole fish which was recommended by the waiter. everything was fresh and delicious. waiter was very friendly and gave good recommendations. he also brought us dessert on the house!

i visited josephina (located near Times Square) for lunch during the week. my friend and i both ordered the three course prix-fixe for about $20. the appetizer and entree were good but the dessert I thought was the most amazing! i almost ordered another one. after dessert, the owner/manager of the restaurant came to chat with us and offered us each a glass of drink on the house. very friendly service but the food was not all that impressionable (just the dessert was)

boy did i have a bad experience with this restaurant. i placed an order for delivery at probably 9 in the evening. after an hour the food still did not arrive. when i called, i was told that it was on its way and will be delivered within half an hour. half an hour passed by and still no food. so i called again and again i was told that it was on its way. after another half an hour, the food finally arrived, at 11 in the evening. the pasta of course was cold and hard. very disappointing experience... but this is only my one-time personal experience.
