If you are picky about your hair cut, beware of this Woodinville Supercuts. Actually, if you're not picky about your hair cut, beware of this place also. I've been there more than once & have not been happy more than once. Staff changes constantly & there isn't much consistency. Crowded on weekends, so definitely use their call ahead service if you are still feeling brave.

Banks are banks, but the people at Cottage Lake Bank of America seem to go out of their way to be friendly and nice. Every time I walk in, I'm personally greeted by some of the staff, and they always offer to go out of their way to accomodate whatever I need. This friendly touch goes a long way, and it's nice to feel known. Wonderful staff!

Bookstores just aren't like they used to be. No more dry, boring aisles of books. Now, you've got music, you've got coffee and comfortable spaces to thumb through books. Barnes and Noble has a great selection of books available for purchase right off the shelves. If you need something in hand right away, buy it from the store. If you can wait a few days, order it from them online, where it will be slightly discounted. However, this is a nice place to go on a Friday evening and enjoy a cup of coffee and page through some books.

Just got back from lunch at Ixtapa's and I was surprised to see the menu had changed. The food was the same, pretty good Mexican food and great salsa with toasty hot chips, but they had definitely reformatted the menu so that their preset combo meals were gone. Now it was more of a build your own combo, with $6+ for one item, $9+ for two, and $11+ for three items. I was bummed out about that because this certainly makes their dinners more expensive. Still the same, good Mexican food, at higher prices.

So if you visit Seattle, everybody wants to visit the Space Needle. Now it's a great thing to do once, just to say you've done it, but in reality, it's expensive and there's nothing overly compelling about it. It seems more worthwhile to eat in the revolving restaurant if you're going to pay for the ticket up. Do so, and you'll feel a little better about the whole experience, but the food's only mediocre and you'll see that you really are paying for that ticket up anyways. But, it's Seattle, and this is the Space Needle, so you gotta do it once--but just once.

The Pacific Science Center is a great place for the kindergartner through junior high crowd. The exhibits are interesting and interactive and keeps the kids entertained. The IMAX theater is impressive, so definitely catch a movie while you're here, and the laser show is compelling as well. There's a lot to see and do here, so plan on spending the afternoon. The Seattle Center Food Court is just a short walk a way, so it's nice to take a break and return for more. Definitely one of the nicer Science Centers around the country.

I've been on the Underground City Tour twice now, 10 years apart. And it seems like the same material to me. But you should definitely bring out of town visitors to this attraction because it gives some seriously interesting info on Seattle's history. Walking around below the current city is amazing, and the tour keeps you interested throughout. The story is compelling and it's definitely worth a trip down below.

Dixies Barbeque is a local secret. Hidden in some sort of automotive repair shop, this place doesn't command much drive by business, but by word of mouth, you've got to see "the man" for the hottest hot sauce you've ever had. Good home style BBQ cooking. Not much on the ambiance, but it's worthwhile for the food and experience. "The Man" is a local must do.
