I love working out at Curves for Women. The 30 minute workout circuit isn't too hard for beginners to jump in, but you can consistently get a good hard workout as you get stronger and leaner just by working harder on the circuit machines and in between. All of the staff at the Chino Hills North location are super friendly, and the women who work out there are nice as well. Unlike most L.A. area gyms, you don't have to worry about looking good to go work out - everyone is in baggy t-shirts and shorts and no one is trying to impress anyone else. The jazzy music helps the time speed by in a flash. They also have really convenient hours, although I would like to see longer hours on Saturday and for them to be open on Sunday.

This is my favorite bagel shop in the Inland Empire area. They have a fabulous selection of fresh bagels, and all of them we've tried have been great. My favorite is a cheese bagel with a couple of strips of bacon, and my husband likes the everything bagels. For a bagel shop, they also have really good coffee and even really good hot tea. There aren't a lot of places to sit, and the tables they have are pretty crowded, but the inside of the shop is decorated with Broadway musical posters that give it a nice atmosphere.

Some Crust Bakery has incredible pastries and other baked goods - a rarity in Southern California, as far as I'm concerned. It is a really cute little place, with a nice atmosphere, especially for Saturday morning breakfasts. I am particularly fond of their scones and tea at breakfast and their cookies any time. My husband thinks they have really good coffee as well. Prices are reasonable, and it is rarely crowded on weekday mornings although there may be a wait on weekends.

When I worked at Vanderbilt, Provence Breads & Cafe was one of my favorite lunchtime haunts. Their freshly baked breads are phenomenal, which makes any sandwich great. They have a great selection, and all of them that I have tried have been delicious. Their prices are about average for what you'd pay at a deli/cafe in the area. It also has kind of that European cafe feel, which is nice to find in the middle of Nashville. It can be crowded on weekdays at lunchtime, and parking can be a big hassle if you aren't already in the Vanderbilt vicinity.

I used Teresa as my wedding florist. Her sister Sue Chandler was my caterer, and when my florist backed out, Sue recommended her sister. I was as pleased with Teresa as I was with Sue! She was completely on the same page as I was about the kinds of flowers I wanted. The flowers she did were stunning, and they were exactly what I wanted. Her arrangements were gorgeous, and they looked very natural and not stuffy (I hate arrangements that are so perfect that they look uncomfortable). She worked so hard on making sure that everything looked exactly perfect and that all the flowers coordinated with everything else in the wedding to pull the whole theme together. Even better, she and her sister worked incredibly well together, so the food and the flowers really went together perfectly. Her prices were also very reasonable. I highly recommend her!

Tam O'Shanter is a great restaurant. Their prime rib is just as good as Lawry's (owned by the same family), and they have more options for side dishes. Furthermore, it is easier to get reservations on short notice, and the wait isn't as long for a table. Even better, if you happen to have the Entertainment Book, they have a buy one - get one coupon with use of the Entertainment card. The service was great, and it has an atmosphere that feels like an English hunting lodge.

I used All Needz for all the rentals I needed for my wedding. I rented tables, chairs, tablecloths, etc. They were by far the cheapest in Huntsville, and you can frequently find a 10% off coupon for them. They delivered to Fayetteville for just $50, and they were great to work with, even when I needed to add more chairs at the last minute.

I used Sue Chandler and All American Catering as the caterer for my wedding in June 2004. After being so disappointed that none of the caterers I talked to could really envision what I wanted for my brunch reception, I was really sad. Then someone recommended Sue to me. She was perfect! She had incredible ideas about what to do, how it should look, how to arrange the food and the serving tables, and just how to bring it all together. As anal as I was about my wedding details, I knew as soon as I met her that she was going to make it exactly what I wanted, and I was right. I could not have asked for anything better than what Sue did, and her staff was excellent as well. I had no complaints, and so many people commented about how unique her food was and how delicious it was.

We were referred to Kassi by another Nashville photographer, and we couldn't have been more pleased. Kassi was a joy to work with! She met with me before the wedding, and we discussed the pictures I wanted. She was early getting to the church, and she got all the must-capture moments. She was also very unobtrusive, and she worked quickly. We didn't spend a lot of time waiting around for her to take a zillion shots of the same pose, which was a plus in my book. She was incredibly reasonably priced - much cheaper than many of the Nashville photographers.

We were recommended to Evie by a friend of ours. She did our engagement pictures at both her studio (in the Fromax in Irvine) and on the beach. We could not have been more pleased (in fact, the default picture I have on my Judy's Book page was taken by her). She was great to work with, really nice, and she took a lot of time to be sure we got exactly what we wanted. She had a lot of great ideas about what would look good, and we were happy with all of them. She also did a fabulous job digitally retouching our digital pictures and gave us the CD at the end of our session. She was also incredibly reasonably priced - far below what most of the area photographers would have charged. If we'd had our wedding in California, there's no doubt we would have gone with her as our photographer. As it is, I'm looking forward to having her do pictures of our kids!
