Coldwater Creek is one of my favorite stores. They have really nice quality, colorful articles of clothing that last well and wear beautifully. I have purchased several things from them and haven't been disappointed with any of them. Their sizes tend to run true, but I've noticed that some of their jackets tend to run a bit large. They also have beautiful costume jewelry, and just browsing in their stores gives me an idea of how I can tie things together with jewelry. Their outlet stores are also great, but they tend to have very limited size selection.

Avenue is a great store for plus sized ladies. They are reasonably priced and carry a wide variety of clothes - lots of professional options, jeans, athletic clothes, and trendy clothes as well. They also have lingerie, shoes, and accessories. If you sign up for their emails, you will get coupons weekly. Once you get on their mailing list, you'll also get even more coupons in the mail. I far prefer them to Lane Bryant, who it seemed to me tried to get so outrageously trendy with their clothes that there was nothing I could wear in my 9-5 work life.

McAlister's Deli is one of my favorite places for a quick lunch. I love their sandwiches - my favorite is the turkey melt (I get it on a croissant instead of the hoagie roll), their potatoes (you can get them with anything from just butter and sour cream to loaded with turkey, ham, bacon, chili, etc). The soups are also delicious, as are their desserts. You definitely can't get lunch there without some of their delicious sweet iced tea!

The Hampton Inn in Green Hills was a wonderful place. The desk clerks were very friendly and helpful. The newspaper was delivered to my door every morning. The bathroom was luxurious with very nice quality towels. The bed was like falling into heaven, with lots of pillows (as a fan of having a lot of pillows, I'm always annoyed with only two at most hotels) and very nice bedding. The room was quiet and cleaned well every day. The free continental breakfast far surpassed the coffee and doughnuts at most continental breakfasts - with eggs, various coffees, teas, and juices, cereals, waffles, pastries, and more.

This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in! My room had no heat whatsoever. The walls were paper thin. I was unlucky enough to be in the hotel at the same time as what seemed like a tremendous number of people who did nothing but party all night. The vending machine stole my money. The desk clerk was completely rude, making fun of my last name and asking way more questions than he should have. Valet parking was the only option, and when I checked out, it took him 30 minutes to bring my car to me.

We got a great deal through AARP on our room at the La Quinta. The room was very nice, the service was excellent, and the location was convenient for us, as we were visiting my father in the hospital at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. It is also conveniently located next to the Cracker Barrel, which is a huge plus in my book! The only drawback was that the room, which was on the first floor, seemed quite noisy. We got lots of noise from trains, which I never considered as being a problem. Also, Sidco Drive gets a lot of heavy truck traffic.

Since my dad has been in the hospital, my mother and I have been staying at the Extended Stay America in Brentwood. We have been very pleased. The room is comfortable (although the heating is a little weird - bursts of hot air interspersed with bursts of cold air), has a nice recliner, a fridge, a stove, a sink, a microwave, and a full ironing board and iron. More tv channels would be nice at night when I can't sleep, but the price is great.

We were very disappointed when our baby's umbilical cord was between it's legs at our standard level II ultrasound, because it meant we couldn't find out if it was a boy or a girl (even though we were mostly just thrilled to know it was healthy). So we called this place and were able to get an appointment for the very next morning. Since we were really only interested in finding out the gender, we got their cheapest package (they also promise that if they can't see the gender, you can come back for free until they do!). The tech was wonderfully nice, and we were able to find out we are having a baby girl. We got a wonderful 4D video of our baby and were completely amazed at how long the tech spent with us on it. We also got a coupon for $50 off a future visit with this pregnancy, which we plan to do when we can get better pictures. Highly recommend!

From what I had heard, All About Baby was talked about as being a lesser baby store in Huntsville than Huffman's. I found the opposite to be true. They have a wonderful selection of baby cribs and furniture and unique crib bedding. Furthermore, they have a great selection of diaper bags, gliders and ottomans, and other baby accessories. Their staff was much more friendly, and their prices were much more reasonable. I would definitely recommend All About Baby over Huffman's!

Huffman's has been traditionally known as the more upscale baby store in Huntsville. They certainly do carry a good selection of baby bedding and baby furniture that you don't typically find at Babies R Us or Baby Depot. However, when I was there recently, I thought their store was largely disorganized and pretty dirty actually. Also, the staff on hand that day was not at all friendly or helpful. Furthermore, their prices were much higher than at All About Baby, which had a better selection and a nicer store.
