I had lunch yesterday at Pizzeria Uno's. I am a fan of this casual dining restaurant, and especially of their deep dish pizzas. This dish was my choice once again, I tried a loaded veggie variety, which I belive was called the Farmer's Harvest?? It was a 8" deep dish pizza LOADED with sun dried tomato, eggplant, mushrooms and other veggies. It also had feta cheese, which was a nice twist. My dining companion tried another veggie variety, I believe it was the Spanikopta (??) well it was spinach and other veggies with Gouda cheese. Absolutely fabulous. My son split a baked haddock dish, which he loved, it was his first time eating fish believe it or not. It was soft flaky white, breaded and baked. It was quite slow in the restaurant, and we had great service and a wonderful, attentive waitress who quickly cleaned up the spilled cup of water my nephew tipped over. A lovely lunch out. They have a huge menu, tons of signature drinks and desserts.

This weekend, a group of family members and I ordered dinner from Nana's pizza. We were really pleased with our mixed order of multi-topping pizza's, appetizers and salad. The pizza's had kind of a sour-dough tasting crust, with just the right amount of sauce and cheese. One was a pepper pizza, and I was pleased to see it not only had green peppers but red peppers too, a nice surprise. The jalenpeno poppers were GREAT, a fried breaded combination of cream cheese, cheddar cheese and jalepeno. Not too spicy and served with sweet and sour and marinara sauce. The greek salad had a nice variety of veggies, besides lettuce, and was generously topped with feta. A tip---if you go there in person, look for a menu, there are plenty of good money saving coupons in the paper menu, which we didn't discover until after we picked up our order. It was still worth every penny though.

I just had a great experience with Comcast customer service. I contacted them to downgrade my cable services, since I realized I am paying for a lot of extra services I do not use. The customer service rep that was helping me was great, he was very patient in explaining the different products and prices, and suggesting ways to combine services and products to save me money. I did not feel pressured to rush into any decisions or to buy any of the upsell items like Digital Phone. I had a few "dumb" questions but the representative was very thorough and helpful, and never once was patronizing or aggravated that I asked a question that had probobly been asked a thousand times before. My wait time for live help was only seconds. I'm aware that the cable company has tough competition from the satellite companies but they really are doing a good job in trying to please and maintain their current customers.

I visit the Post Office in Holbrook MA a couple times a week to ship packages. I really have to hand it to the clerks there---they have always been really friendly, helpful and efficient, even when there's a long line of people. It's just a given--you expect to wait in line at the post office, but this one has the shortest lines I've encountered. The lobby is small, but they have all the forms and boxes well-organized so they do make good use of the small space. The window clerks always try to point out ways to save money or streamline the mailing services to help me save time. I really appreciate their help and I can tell, from seeing the interactions with other customers, that this Post Office is doing a good job.

I visited the UPS Store in Braintree, MA just to make a couple simple photocopies, but I think I may return when I need to do more complicated transactions, like shipping packages. The clerk was really friendly and helpful, came right over to help me with the huge, intimidating machines. The inside of the store was small, but very organized, neat, and bright and cheery too. They had all the shipping supplies and paper products you'd expect to find, but also cute little gifty impulse items for sale too. I'd likely come back here if I needed to ship packages that I wasn't shipping through the post office.

I have a love/hate relationship with Burlington Coat Factory. I love the pure enormity and variety of their inventory, and the decent prices. However, their customer service is another story. On this occasion, I went there shopping for costume jewelry to wear with an outfit. I like their costume jewelry, it ranges from about 5.99-9.99 so it's a nice way to pick up cute, cheap, trendy, jewelry sets. I found what I was looking for but had to listen to literally 1/2 hour of loud arguing between two co-workers about the placement of fixtures in the women's sportswear department. It was almost ridiculous that two professional adults would carry on, loudly, in such a manner. They were completely oblivious that they were in a place of business---THEIR business! I just tried to ignore them while I made my final decision on the jewelry. My biggest gripe, which I'm sure others share, is that there are absolutely no cash or credit refunds on returns. Merchandise credit only. I have also had to wait at least 15 mins in line to purchase, only to discover that the person in front of me was doing a layaway transaction and the cashier had to leave and retrieve the merchandise. I can't believe they didn't have a separate area for those types of transactions. (Although, that was a couple years ago so I can't verify that they still do layaways at the front registers). In a previous visit, I've also encountered probobly the rudest salesperson ever working behind the customer service desk. I almost thought someone was playing a joke on my friend and I . So, visit Burlington Coat Factory for the selection, but make sure you have plenty of time to check out, and take a deep breath before dealing with any of their customer service reps.

I recently went to the Charlie Horse with a group of friends. It was a Saturday night and there was a DJ (sometimes they have bands playing). It was a pretty good time, I think the $10 cover is a little steep, but in the South Shore you really don't have TOO many options for going out for a drink and a little dancing. The drinks were good, reasonable, and fast service. The dancefloor is on the small side, and there is a ton of tv's around the edge showing shots of the crowd. The music was a mix of mostly current hip-hop, with some house music too. It was pretty crowded, but the crowd was mostly friendly, upbeat and everyone seemed to really be enjoying themselves. My only suggestion would be for the people working the door to work a little on their customer service skills---they acted like they were doing us a favor by letting us in the club, and taking our $10 apiece. I guess that's the situation most places though. Free parking. There is a game area but we didn't make it to that part.

I went out to dinner Saturday night with a large group of people. We chose Nocera's Italian restaurant in Stoughton. Most of us had already dined here and were happy to do so again. I have to say, the menu is HUGE! Everything you would expect at an Italian restaurant and more. A couple people chose Toasted Ravioli's as their meal and loved them. I had the Eggplant Parmesean sandwich, which came with either fries or cole slaw. The eggplant was good, not greasy, and the bread is good ( I think it's Nocera's own Italian bread) but I don't think they make the best combination. The Eggplant was too bulky and saucy for the light airy bread, and I resorted to eating it with a fork and knife. I've had the eggplant over pasta and it's much easier to eat.
We felt comfortable there as a group of young adults, and didn't feel rushed whatsoever. The waitress was awesome, making suggestions and checking on us frequently. We were celebrating a birthday and they brought us a cake and sang. It was a nice time and a nice meal.

TGIFridays is a winner! I recently went there for dinner and was pleased once again! On a Sunday night at 6:00 pm, we had about a 15 minute wait for a table, very reasonable. We started with the Tuscan Spinach dip, a creamy blend of artichoke, spinach and cheese, served hot with multi-colored tortillas. Magnificent, my only suggestion would be maybe to add a more substantial type "scooper" for the dip, maybe a couple breadsticks or pita wedges?? I think they used to do this. My entree was the Vegetable Grill: a nice size Portabella mushroom, marinated and grilled. Alongside this is a good size portion of angel hair pasta and LOADS of grilled, marinated veggies. A side of creamy balsamic type dipping sauce/dressing is also served with this. This is one of my all time favorite meals out. It's a real treat, especially in the winter, to enjoy the grilled veggies. My dining companion chose the Chicken & Shrimp combo, looked great, and was served with two big mounds of cheddar mashed potatoes that REALLY looked good. We were too full for dessert. We had a coupon that was taken without hesitation. Another fine meal!

I was introduced to Hair World when I was in a friend's wedding and all the bridesmaids and the bride got our hair done here on the day of the wedding. Everyone's hair came out so beautiful (updo's) and the bride looked WONDERFUL! She has very curly kinky hair and the stylist straightened it and made a beautiful ringlet updo. It looked so beautiful. Now my friend will ONLY get her hair done here and is slowly converting everyone she knows to be a customer! Haircuts are only $17! The women that work there are down to earth, professional, skilled and just great people. They did such a great job on the wedding party, and it was a humid day in the middle of July. There is no need to overpay for hair maintenance when there are places like this that do just as good of a job for less.
