This store is a must for chocolate lovers. The best thing, of course, are their chocolate dipped fruits. Most of the fruit is dipped while fresh, and the banana is exquisite. Almost everything comes in your choice of white, milk, or dark chocolate. The blueberry cups are also great, and they have raspberry, pineapple, orange, kiwi, strawberry, and some others. They also have chocolate dipped pretzels, cookies, and other things. There are truffles and a variety of other chocolate treats. This location also carried Emack and Bolio's ice cream.

First I'll start off by saying that most of the staff at the main library is nice and friendly (unfortunately this is not the case in my neighboring hometown of Newton). This is particularly true of the librarians in the Children's Room. The programs for children are creative, well organized, and well managed. The library also yas young adult events, senior events (like Senior Cinema), exhibits, discussion groups, etc. The display of new items right in the main lobby is also well done and easy to access. The meeting and facility rooms are in very good condition even though parts of the rest of the library are looking a little tired. Parking can be a hassle (there are meters all around, but sometimes you have to circle a bit). It's about a 5 minute walk from the Brookline Village T station.

Brookline Adult Ed. consistently has a wide variety of classes offered at a good price (I've been taking French for years at about 1/3 of the price of a similar course through the French Library). The cooking classes are creative, and they have so many different art and other things to pick from. The high school classrooms aren't always the most comfortable, but parking in the evenings isn't too bad (though the same can't be said for the courses offered near Coolidge Corner), and it's a very easy walk from Brookline Hills T stop. You can easily register online or by phone. The catalogs are available all over town or online.

This berry farm has been around since 1979. You can pick your own berries any day of the week from mid-July through mid-September. You get a cute little plastic bucket that goes around your neck, and if you need it they'll also give you a large bucket to transfer your neck berries. They have blueberries throughout their season and in mid July have black raspberries, then red raspberries from late July through Fall, then blackberries late August, and eldberries in September. They also occasionally have some vegetables (broccoli, kohlrabi, who knows what else) in their farm stand (you do not pick yourself). Prices are great for everything (blueberries $1.40 a pint if you pick yoursel, which is so much of the fun). You can also buy already picked berries if you're in a rush or the weather isn't good. It's a lovely area to drive around, too.

I decided to check out Elevenses with a British friend after driving by several times and then getting the additional motivation of a coupon in the "Coupon Clipper." It was not the British teahouse I was expecting but was good nonetheless. I'm a BIG fan of iced tea and was delighted to have a wide array to choose from (Jasime Green Tea is delicious, and don't be deceived by its light color). They have bubble teas that look delicious, but I avoided them since I read somewhere that each tapioca ball has a zillion calories (others seemed to be sipping them with relish through the giant straws, though. They carefully guard the bubble tea straws -- they are ONLY for bubble tea). The sandwiches were delicious on really good, toasted panini bread (the mozzarella was high quality and super fresh, the walnut cranberry chicken salad excellent, smoked salmon good). The desserts look good though we didn't try. They had a few free samples of different things in the front. Dinner prices seem very reasonable. The staff is a little short with customers and seem a bit annoyed, but since it's counter service your interaction with them is limited anyway. It's very clean and tastefully decorated but very casual, so not a "date" place. Clearly the attempt here is to have an Asian flair (they have noodle soups, for example), but not overly so. Good prices.

I'm a bit of an Italian food snob, and being from the North I can be quite harsh on what I consider to be "red sauce" establishments. This is one of those. You will not find usual pasta shapes or vegetable laden dishes or anything creative or unusual. What you will find are huge portions of a lot of your favorites, and you'll have leftovers for the following day. They have spaghetti and meatballs, eggplant parm, lasagna, all the old standbyes. The stuff is a bit greasy, but it's tasty for sure. The ambiance isn't much, but it's charming in its own way. They have giant portions available, so it's probably good for a meal to feed many, like if you're having company.

What a great find this place is. It's huge, so even when crowded the wait won't be too intolerable. They often have life music, so that's a lot of fun (although a touch too loud). They have a very fun Martini menu (some of which will be shaken for you at your table). I can't say that I've had a main course because the appetizers are so great and so filling that you can put a bunch together with your pals and have yourself a meal. The mussel appetizer is the biggest I've ever seen in my life -- main course sized portion for $11! They have creative salads that are big enough to share. The crab cakes are full of crab -- not filler -- are not greasy, and some with a killer mango salsa. The crusty, yummy bread comes piping hot out of the oven to your table. Service is friendly. You have a few of the water. What more could you want?

I got food poisoning from The Wrap that used to be here, so it was with some nervousness that we visited Boloco. I'll start by saying that the smoothies, though a little expensive (but aren't they everywhere), are quite good. They have a good selection of those. The burritos, though, leave a lot to be desired. First of all, they don't all come with cheese, so if you want cheese on one that doesn't come with it, you have to pay extra. That's annoying. Depending on the type of burrito you get, you might get one with white, flavorless rice. Bad. They do have some creative pairings, but they just aren't that good. There is VERY LITTLE meat (you can get "extra meat" for more $, which I'd never seen on a menu before but quickly understood when I bit into my meager burrito). Very friendly service and super clean environment, but very blah food.

I know it's just a White Hen Pantry convenience store. However, it does have some great deli items. They make fresh sandwiches at a VERY reasonable price, and the cranberry walnut chicken salad is just delicious. They have some fresh sandwiches already made if you're really in a hurry. They also have stuff like bread pudding, rice pudding, salads, etc. It's cheaper than a sub shop and probably just as good. Of course they have all the usual quickie mart type of items. It's on the main road with plenty of parking. Service is very friendly. Thumbs up here.

I like this place because it reminds me of the old cinemas when I was a kid, before everything went multiplex (well, the Internet Stations and Cyber Cafe aspect of it are not at all retro). It seems very neighborhood friendly, and they even have a paperback book exchange. Candy and refreshments are expensive like everywhere else, but ticket prices are much lower than elsewhere. They also have a 2 for 1 deal on Tuesdays. They don't have a parking lot, but there's parking along Trapelo Road and side streets. There are also quite a few places to grab a bite nearby, so make a day or night of it! They have "second run" movies, so a good place to catch something you missed a couple of weeks ago.
