I have no idea whatsoever why anyone who owns a car wouldn't be a AAA member. In the 8 years of my membership I've called them twice when my car wouldn't start (old battery once, left lights on once) and twice when I've locked my keys in my car. I've gotten countless free maps and tour books for business and pleasure trips, and I've gotten discount tickets for movies. I haven't booked a trip through them, but I have talked to the cruise people at the Newton location, who were very friendly. The map people are very nice, too. The piece of mind from the membership is worth every penny, too.
