Located in Machester Village in Rock Hill, the Machester Tavern has some fantastic food...currently.. our server told us they were going to revamp the joint and go to a Tex Mex menu. Not sure why, the food was great the way it was. Prices were good and they run some decent specials. Staff was awesome although the food did take a little long. Be sure to try the cajun chicken sandwich with bleu cheese!

Ok, so they had bakery items that one would normally find in a Jersey (or northeastern) bakery. The prices were a bit pricey and the bakery was mediocre. Although it satisfied a yen to get a good cinnamon roll, I've had better. The place is very tiny compared to the amount of advertising. People and service were good - they willingly heat up the roll for you!

Located in Uptown Charlotte, Phils Deli boasts about their sandwiches. We traveled there in search of a decent corned beef sandwich. Well, it ended up being shaved sandwich meat (not real cooked corned beef) that I could have bought at the grocery store. They seem to cater a lot more to the bar/appetizer crowd. Service was fine and prices were typical for an uptown location.

Very similar to your average coffee house these days, Dilworth coffee house has a typical setting of couches and mix n’ match seating available. The coffee is excellent although a bit pricey at $6 for a half pound. They have a great variety of drinks and there’s ice cream available for the kiddies as well as a childrens area to play in. Some funky gift items as well – mugs, etc. Very nice place

Located in the Atherton Mill in South End, the South End Brewery seems like a great place for the bar-crowd to hang out and drink some brews, The food and menu selection is limited and simply average in taste. Not very kid friendly and I forgive that – it is a brewery after all. Server was average and so were the prices although the portions are small.

This is a new store located in Ayrsley. The store is a fantastic place to take your kids for a look around. They have a countless number of fish for sale including sharks, eel, seahorses, etc! A number of aquariums to choose from too. We went when they had just opened and the staff seemed a bit uncomfortable and rushed. Not sure if things have changed since then. I’m not familiar with prices of this stuff so I can’t comment

Depending on the level of organic and all-natural you get, the Home Economist Market has what you need. I personally go there for the multiple bins of baking products, trail mix, and espresso beans. Oh – and the Ciao Bella Gelato in the freezer section. Lots of all natural health and holistic products and food items. Prices are so-so but the fresh ground peanut butter and pour-it-yourself honey is worth it!

I love pizza! (who doesn’t ?) After much testing and searching, I truly adore the pizza, knots, and calzones at Tony’s Pizza in downtown York. Lot of specials depending on the night but prices are great regardless! Great service but I do wish the place would become non-smoking. Kids will love it!

A great place for burgers and even better for fries! An easy, relaxed, counter-style atmosphere and cheap prices makes Five Guys a super stop anytime! Their burgers are real beef and come with the toppings that you select. The fries are real potatoes with the skins on – all homemade. There are peanuts for eating while you wait!
